  1. Haha, I definitely have that one beat My first computer that was my own (not the families) was a 386, I was probably 8 years old. Here are the specs: CPU 386 RAM 128MB Harddrive was 150MB Oh and I connected to the internet at a crazy speed of 24.4k
  2. I will admit the more and more I continue to use it the easier it becomes. I may change my mind just yet.
  3. I'm right there with you.... I want to learn more about PHP. I just need a good project to spend some time with it.
  4. Looks like in the next release of Photoshop (CS6) you can magically move around any object In your photos. I'm anxious to give this a try. From the video you can see the new clone-stamp like content-ware fill, which allows you to define a part of the image as a source to easily erase anything from an image. This should be a huge timesaver, but what is even more amazing is using the same technology to move any object around the image. You can skip to the 1:00 mark to see how it works. In CS5 this could have taken hours to accomplish, in the new version, a matter of seconds. http://youtu.be/UrlsnQ32YhY This post has been promoted to an article This post has been promoted to an article

    Hello :)

    Welcome to the board Jon!
  7. Database Developer here. I've worked with the following Database systems: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Microsoft SQL Server 2008 DTS Packages SSIS Packages FoxPro Sybase MYSQL Microsoft Access Now that I know how the back ends work I really want to focus on front end development such as PHP, HMTL, and CSS.
  8. I've been on Experts Exchange now for close to 5 years. I have learn a lot and receive much needed help from that site. I go to login a few days ago and notice that they have now completely revamped their site. It looks good, but seems to be more of a challenge to navigate. What do you guys think? My vote is for the old design.
  9. Setting the default notifications in the past was a pain. Thanks to the this on the 3.2.x release it's now configurable within the AdminCP. You can find it here: Admin CP > System > System Settings > Members > User Profiles > Default subscription method on registration
  10. Ever experienced an issue being copied on all outgoing emails from you new or existing IPB forum install? I encountered this a few installs back and couldn't find the answer to this anywhere, so I figured I would share it with you. Login to your AdminCP and go here: System Settings > System > Email Set-up Within here lies the problem. If you have anything typed in where I have circled in red below you need to remove it. These are meant to be left blank within the setup.
  11. This is a quick and easy way to change the owner of an object if needed with sp_changedobjectowner sp_changeobjectowner 'oldownername.nameofobject', 'newowner' example: sp_changeobjectowner 'nathan.p_Customer1', 'nriley' The following changes the owner from "nathan" to "nriley"
  12. The following script will allow you to search all the data in all the tables within a certain database. This is useful for poorly labeled databases or when you have no data diagram to work off. If you know a unique piece of data that you see within the application itself you can then query the database for it. However, I wouldn't recommend running it on a production server during business hours. All you need to do is replace "DatabaseName" with you database name. Then execute it and it will be written into your database. Then just call it with the string of text you are looking for example: SearchAllTables '%Important Data%' USE [DATABASENAME] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[searchAllTables] Script Date: 07/30/2010 10:37:52 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROC [dbo].[searchAllTables] ( @SearchStr nvarchar(100) ) AS BEGIN CREATE TABLE #Results (ColumnName nvarchar(370), ColumnValue nvarchar(3630)) SET NOCOUNT ON DECLARE @TableName nvarchar(256), @ColumnName nvarchar(128), @SearchStr2 nvarchar(110) SET @TableName = '' SET @SearchStr2 = QUOTENAME('%' + @SearchStr + '%','''') WHILE @TableName IS NOT NULL BEGIN SET @ColumnName = '' SET @TableName = ( SELECT MIN(QUOTENAME(TABLE_SCHEMA) + '.' + QUOTENAME(TABLE_NAME)) FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_TYPE = 'BASE TABLE' AND QUOTENAME(TABLE_SCHEMA) + '.' + QUOTENAME(TABLE_NAME) > @TableName AND OBJECTPROPERTY( OBJECT_ID( QUOTENAME(TABLE_SCHEMA) + '.' + QUOTENAME(TABLE_NAME) ), 'IsMSShipped' ) = 0 ) WHILE (@TableName IS NOT NULL) AND (@ColumnName IS NOT NULL) BEGIN SET @ColumnName = ( SELECT MIN(QUOTENAME(COLUMN_NAME)) FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = PARSENAME(@TableName, 2) AND TABLE_NAME = PARSENAME(@TableName, 1) AND DATA_TYPE IN ('char', 'varchar', 'nchar', 'nvarchar') AND QUOTENAME(COLUMN_NAME) > @ColumnName ) IF @ColumnName IS NOT NULL BEGIN INSERT INTO #Results EXEC ( 'SELECT ''' + @TableName + '.' + @ColumnName + ''', LEFT(' + @ColumnName + ', 3630) FROM ' + @TableName + ' (NOLOCK) ' + ' WHERE ' + @ColumnName + ' LIKE ' + @SearchStr2 ) END END END SELECT ColumnName, ColumnValue FROM #Results END
  13. Here is my new build, supposed to arrive by Feb 23rd. 14. As you can see we are in need of a logo. I need a new Logo and Icon that I can use on this site: Developer Base I want the words "Developer Base" in them and if we incorporate an icon with "DB" that would be cool. I'd like a fresh look to the logo, not something we've seen on 100's of other sites already. I would like the vector and photoshop files so I can edit them down the line "change tag line, ect" As you see our forum is currently styled in blues and whites, I'd like to logo to match these or come close. I'd like space to add a tag line as an option. Winner get's $30 via PayPal! To qualify create your logo then post it here. Would like to get this done today.
