  1. i think it is easiest to design in photoshop, slice, and then convert to html. It allows you to make beautiful websites and gives you control over every aspect of the design. Photoshop can take a while to learn, but once you have got it down, you will make killer websites in no time. I think online resources often limit your ability to be creative and nitpicky, which is what makes great web design.
  2. I have made some small stuff in Python, but nothing too great. When I first began, I thought I would programming games easily until I really learnt how difficult they are to make. I think new stuff, like HTML 5 as mentioned above, is paving the way for easier game development. I would really like to get into HTML 5 because it looks simple yet effective.
  3. Yeah..I have gotten used to that thing after years. But if it really annoys you, you could try another program. I know that 7zip is upcoming and is just as good as winrar or winzip. I don't think it has that popup, but the interface might take some getting used to.
  4. What traffic are you getting? Is it targeted or not? Any revenue? SERP rankings? I am interested, but not sure if forum has developed yet or has enough worth. I may look into this in the future, unless you can tell me more about your site.
  5. Hey all, I have a youtube channel and I want to show off my new ubuntu (which looks awesome!), but I am an absolute Linux noob. How would I screen capture video? What software do you guys recommend, or should I try to use Vine and get a Windows recorder? I am not sure what to do, as I am completely lost with Linux. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
  6. As many of you may know, Google recently had the massive Penguin update, which definitely caused problems for many. After the update, many of my sites fell in rankings, but they ranked back up quite fast. A few things I have learned from this update: 1. Google now values social media more - Dump your links in Google+ and you should have your site indexed in no time. 2. Diversity is even more important - My sites that that got hit the hardest didn't have backlinks from many different sources. What are your thoughts on the Penguin update? What have you learned?
  7. Adbrite is actually quite nice, I would say they are the next best after Adsense. I like them because they have a variety of ad types, some which might convert better for you. Also, I recommend Chitika, as they are also pretty nice. I have not had much experience with Chitika, but I do know a few people who have had success with it. Chitika is search based, so it displays ads that are relevant to a user's search history.
  8. I would recommend that you start this forum, but try to pick a more specific niche. There are so many general forums out there that you would be lucky to get a few members. If you really want this to grow, try and dominate a niche that you know about or have a passion for. Reaching success is going to require a huge time and effort commitment, so be prepared. Also, if you specialize your forum it will be much easier to get members to join and stick.
  9. If you are interested in getting a script, make sure you get one quick. Pinterest has gone viral and will likely peak in the near future. For maximum traffic, I would recommend setting this all up right and jumping on the bandwagon. I think it is really interesting how people are already cloning Pinterest - that is when you know it's the next big thing.
  10. I have used 000webhost and I think it is probably the best free host out there. It is perfect for small scale stuff and isn't as low quality as the other free hosts. I would just stick with 000webhost because it has its drawbacks, but is still reliable. If you want a paid host then I would go with HostGator, they have great prices.
  11. The only programming I have ever gotten into is Python, simply because it is easy to learn and not to complicated. However, I have done a bit of HTML CSS and PHP for web development purposes. I learned to do some web dev while in high school because I was bored and had nothing better to do. I probably should have learned some more hard core stuff like C++, but it just takes forever to learn.
