Administrators Nathan Posted February 27, 2012 Administrators Share Posted February 27, 2012 Does anyone know how often Google updates their stats on websites PageRank?
bryce12
I did some digging and found that Google updates its Ragerank every 3 months. Of course there is no fixed date or schedule on which Pagerank is updated, there could be a delay of few days or weeks.
EllaHalligan
Well, whenever they do it (and I heard it was happening in April? But maybe sooner?) I checked PageRank on my personal blog and about fell out of my chair when I saw a PR5. Definitely doing the happy dance over here. I had no idea it would be that high! BlackHatClass
PR is updated 4 times a year with an internal of about 3 months in each update. But that's the PR that we see. The actual PR that only Google knows is updated in real-time.

Godric
Isnt PR gone. I mean google doesnt really value it that much now. I think it will be better if we can follow some other good Measurements. I think quantcast should be used for checking how good a site is. Although they dont have a ranker like alexa, they are really good. And yes, it *was* updated every 3 months. PR is gone now. Hmm...have you built a lot of backlinks to your site then I guess? How many do you show on Alexa? Isnt PR gone. I mean google doesnt really value it that much now. It still matters for people looking to advertise, they want the high PR pages. Godric
Jessi
PR is updated 4 times a year with an internal of about 3 months in each update. But that's the PR that we see. The actual PR that only Google knows is updated in real-time. This. They are constantly changing page ranks now. There isn't a set time throughout the year where everyone is evaluated and adjusted either up or down any more. Your PR can change on any given day. We do see official updates/corrections roughly every 3 months, though. The last one was in February, so you can expect another around the middle of May. Amdac
The last public PR update was in the area of Feb 6th I believe. In theory, the next would be somewhere in the area of May 6th. Keep in mind though that it's not actually every 3 months, it varies quite a bit and can often be off by up to a month, In the past it has gone 2 months in one quarter, then 4 months the next. Collin1000
There are two different PRs, as others have mentioned. The PR you and I see gets updated roughly once every 90 days, but that's just a rough number. Could be two months one time and four the next, you never know. Internally, Google re-ranks your site daily, who knows, even hourly perhaps.

PR gives an idea about the authority of a particular page, the incoming links it has, the overall trust it has. Quantcast, provides data about traffic on the site, with little to average accuracy. He is right on this one. Although PR is gone now, they might still use it internally and as nathan said its important for advertisers too.
