Administrators Nathan Posted March 1, 2012 Administrators Posted March 1, 2012 I'm just curious to know what everyone's favorite promotion forum is. I'm not talking about the most well known promotion forum but yet the one that has offered you the most help and the one you find to be the most effective. Quote
DarkGizmo Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Well i think it's the biggest and also the most helpful. I've found ForumPromotion to be the best for me. I've gained quite a lot of members from there and they've been helpful with graphics and other things that I needed done for my site. So to me, ForumPromotion.net is the most helpful promotion site that I know of. Quote
BlackHatClass Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Isn't ForumPromotion like a mini-spam junction? I mean everyone comes, posts their site, bumps it. No matter how good or bad the site is, it still links to from there. I only like to use natural methods to promote forum. Plug in your link wherever relevant, and let word-of-mouth work for you, Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted March 2, 2012 Author Administrators Posted March 2, 2012 Isn't ForumPromotion like a mini-spam junction? That's what I always wondered, isn't it mostly people wanting to promote their own stuff, not looking at others? Quote
BlackHatClass Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 That's what I always wondered, isn't it mostly people wanting to promote their own stuff, not looking at others? Exactly. I mean people who registered just 5 minutes ago, make a thread there with their site, and leave. No actual value to the forum. Quote
DarkGizmo Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Well for those of us who do utilize FP's other services it works out very well. When I join a promotion forum, the LAST thing I do on them is make a promotion topic. I generally gain 'points' on sites like that so I can use other means of advertising on their site or even posting packages for a quick activity boost of sorts. I also like doing post/activity exchanges with other members on that site. Doing stuff like this actually gets people to look at your site rather then just make a simple promotion topic. Quote
DevilKid Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I have to say in my opinion, Forum Promotion is the worst website to advertise your website on, however it is quite a good website to ask for services such as review of the website or posts for your forums and etc but to advertise, it is a no-no. I don't usually use promotion forums for advertising. I just put my website's link in my signature on every forum I visit. I like this method better. Quote
ChuckTesta Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I have the same feeling as most already mentioned. Forum promotion is a waste of efforts. It's good in concept, but fails to Direct the type of members most forums are looking for. I think the best way to promote a site that's first starting off, is to use your friends... Use social networking to your advantage. When we create websites, we usually create them about things we are into, things we like. Our friends almost always have the same interests. Use that to gain activity and eventually with content, others will come. The hardest thing is we all want things to happen quickly. This isn't typically the case. A lot of time and effort is put into making a website a success. There isn't one cookie cutter way of making a site a success story. Quote
crumblepie Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 The tricky thing about advertising your forum on other forums is that the owner most likely isn't going to like it. Some forums even have rules against it, especially if the two forums are in the same niche. I simply put a link in my signature if it's allowed. Quote
wjack2010 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Well i think it's the biggest and also the most helpful. I've found ForumPromotion to be the best for me. I've gained quite a lot of members from there and they've been helpful with graphics and other things that I needed done for my site. So to me, ForumPromotion.net is the most helpful promotion site that I know of. Yes, that is the best promotion forum for me too. I admit, I've not logged in there for some time, but I do love using it. And actually, you just reminded me about it. Quote
DarkGizmo Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Well as others have said. I generally just use their services now like posting services for posts on my forum. A lot of their staff are quite arrogant as well. I was on their community team for about 5 months and worked hard and yet they gave me no recognition when I resigned due to lack of time for the job. Yet someone else resigned shortly after me and was given a Valued Contributor status. I find that very dis-tasteful. It's like they pick favorites. Quote
TehPhantom Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Forum promotion is a good place to be for promoting your forum, but there are tons of promotion forums out there, that it is hard to keep track on which is which. Quote
dojo Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 ForumPromotion seems to be a pretty good one. I am not too thrilled about such sites, since I find they lack real content (since everyone is dealing something), but for promotion, getting in touch with some good content editors etc. it was very good. You need to make the distinction between such a forum and other admin forum communities and you'll be just fine. DarkGizmo 1 Quote

Each forum offers something different or does something better then the next. I've found ForumPromotion's services such as posting packages to be done in a timely and professional manner. That's really the only thing I do on there now besides post exchanges and selling stuff. I don't really bother doing anything other then that. Quote
