I'd like to introduce myself, ChuckTesta, to the board! I joined to both learn some tricks of the trade from fellow brogrammers, and also to offer and sound advice i may have!

I hail from Sunny Washington, DC. I have a bit of background with objective C and some html. So, if anyone has any questions with iPhone programming, please ask away! :)

Welcome to the board!

I'm jealous of your internet speed :P

Welcome, it's great to have you here. Do you code apps for iPhone ? There's a great market for apps and I was eager to know how easy or difficult it is to code an Iphone app.

I do. And honestly, it's what got me into the programming world.

Developing for the iPhone is probably one of the easiest things i've done! Seriously, if you have an idea, pick up a dev cookbook and go to work! The monetary reward is well worth it. :P

Welcome Chucktesta to DeveloperBase. Enjoy your stay here and may you hopefully learn something new you didn't know previously. It's a fantastic forum to be a part of full of knowledgable people and a friendly staff. I hope you enjoy your stay here and I look forward to seeing what you have to share with the rest of the community here at DB. :-) I noticed you mod games? What sort of modding do you do and what games?

^^Thanks.

I mod consoles more than games. We have Jtags we sell, and I want to eventually get into the hosted lobby scene.

I'm going to add that to my to-do list! Currently reading up on PHP so it'll be a while... :D Nice to have you here! Welcome!

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend any books and resources to start with App programming?

Yes. I started with "step into X code" by; frtiz anderson

then i bought a developers cookbook... forgot the name of it.

These books have since been rewritten. The x code has changes quite a bit in the past few years and a TON of stuff has been added. working with objective C is actually pretty easy. Once you figure out the layout of x code, you'll be flying through it. I went from knowing nothing about it, to having my first app in the store in about 30 days.

Was it "The iPhone Developer’s Cookbook: Building Applications with the iPhone SDK by Erica Sadun"? I'll get both the books and start learning how to code Apps. One of my friends has about 10 apps in the market, he makes some serious money every month.

Yes, that's the book. Just make sure there isn't a revised one. A bit has changed the past couple years. :P it's an awesome book. If gives you a TON of examples. If you have any idea what you want to build, this will help in a huge way!
