Der Walker-Kaiser
My Anti-Virus is about to expire and i was wondering if you could recommend any good manufacturers? Cheers Lads!
Shaunno
NOD32 imo thats what i use
Thrill
I personally use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, not really an antivirus but overall it's great Avira Antivir is a good option, theres a free and premium version. Premium has faster updates and a few other goodies though. A few more options: AVG avast!
Scotteh
I use Avast! Anti-virus it blocks malicious information attempting to get onto my laptop, it's free, good look, and registration lasts a year! After the year you can just re-register for another year. BARKERR 94
i use NOD32 and have had no problems with it, however (sorry Scott) i did have Avast and it did let me down on numerous occasions :'( by the way NOD32 goes down in price if you get the 2 or 3 year plan
Der Walker-Kaiser
Got to agree with you there James, Avast! is pretty S**t at the best of times. Cheers

Henrawr
I've used Avast for years and it's never let me down. Just don't use anything Symantec/Norton related.

Thrill
Norton 2009 and Norton 2010 have improved since the old 'bloated' versions. Norton again, in my eyes is a leader in Antiviruses again
Henrawr
I had Norton and recently had to reformat my parents' computer because Norton was terrible. Plus there's the scandal with the Symantec programs sending information without consent or knowledge.

Der Walker-Kaiser
Used Norton before and must admit it is one of the WORST anti-virus products ever made

SLAT3R
AVG is good is you want a free Anti virus but Kaspersky works like a charm with me. I have had it for over a year now and never got infected. Added bonus with Kaspersky if you get the internet security package is it blocks all ads and pop ups. Henrawr
If you are willing to pay, kaspersky is definitely amazing, but I still have no qualms with avast free. :
Richio
I use BitDefender Total Security 2010 as like a net for viruses and MalwareBytes as a secondary program to get rid of any that got through that net and have so far received no viruses for the last 2 YEARS

Thanks Hi Ethaan, It would help us out a lot if you could follow this small guide: http://www.geeksoup.net/index.php?topic=36.0 and then post a new topic in the Virus and malware removal section Malwarebytes Anti-Malware should clean up the HDD Plus (which is a rogue optimization software), however if it doesn't then we can guide you on how to manually remove the software
