LukeSte Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 My Internet explorer at home will not open. I have tried opening all the short cuts but nothing will happen, i can connect to the internet and msn just not the browser. Quote
Scotteh Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Try going into: My Computer > (C:) > Program Files > Internet Explorer. Run the .exe If that works, right click the .exe and 'create shortcut' If problems persist, try a different web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Chrome - www.google.com/chrome Firefox - www.mozilla.com/ I recommend chrome if you have a half decent processor, otherwise, firefox is your best bet. Quote
Thrill Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Try the above, if not you can uninstall it, then reinstall it. For XP: Close all programs.Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Add or Remove Programs. In the list of currently installed programs, click Windows Internet Explorer 8, and then click Remove. For Windows 7: Close all programs. Click Start and then click Control Panel. Click Programs and Feature. In the tasks pane, click Turn Windows features on or off. In the list of windows features, clear the check box next to Internet Explorer 8. You receive a warning message in a pop-up window. Click Yes. Really reccomend you switch to Firefox or Chrome, much faster, more stable browsers Quote
Richio Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 You could reinstall the newest Internet Explorer, if you don't already have that and don't want to switch from IE. Quote
Thrill Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 No, I've spoke to him about it. He said he hasn't had time to look at it yet Quote
Newmy Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 If the .exe file wont run it you should either re-install it or it switch browsers. I have both FireFox and Google Chrome installed just in case one starts to play up. Quote
