Boone140 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I have tried all help directions and anything else I could find to make my mail program the default. When I bring the email program up I always get the same thing "Eudora was unable to update the system registry. Your default mail program has not been changed". What I not doing correctly or what am I failing to do. Thanking you in advance. Quote
Thrill Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hi there, welcome to Geeksoup.net! Try this 1) Go to "Tools" - "Options" - "Extra Warnings" (I use Eudora 7.1...others may be slightly different) 2) Make sure the box "Start Eudora and it's not the default mailer" IS checked. 3) Close the program. Restart it by right-clicking on the icon and choosing the option, "Run as administrator". 4) You should get a box saying Eudora is not the default, asking if it should be, and a checkbox asking not to warn you again. Tick the box and click yes. 5) You should not see any more error messages. Quote
Boone140 Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 Hi Thrill. Did as said and the error message is gone but now when I open and close the program and click in the options I get the message "Could not uninstall Eudora MAPI System because MAPI.dll and/or MAPI32.dll could not be renamed". Any solution ideas? Thanking you in advance. Quote
Thrill Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi there, Try setting MAPI in the Options to never Very sorry for the delay in replying! Quote
eckofoxtrot Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 If all else fails, then surely just using a different email program might work? Quote
madman01 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 To fix it from coming with the error cant rename, right click run as admin. Should be ok then. Quote
