Scotteh Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Hi. I bought Crysis: Maximum Edition and I have played the original Crysis for a while now, and I've been playing it on and off for a bit. I'd play it more if would stop crashing! It used to be when I turned it on, I played the game for 20 mins or so, then it stops, closes and the 'Not working...' window pops up... And now when I run it, go on single player and start a new game, play for about 30 seconds to a minute and then the screen goes black, and I am forced to ctrl+alt+del out and close the no longer responding program. I've searched around on good ol' google and people seem to have the problem but no clear fix... Can you help me? CHiLL Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I played through the original Crysis last week (along with Warhead, now onto Crysis 2). I also occasionally got random crashes to desktop, though they weren't that frequent. Have you got the game patched up to the latest update? (Can't be done if your game isn't installed in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)...mine in installed on the E:\ drive...and the patcher wouldn't work) Also, check to see if you have the latest graphics drivers available for your card and operating system from Nvidia's website. Scotteh Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 Downloading and installing all patches up to 1.21 now, I'll see what happens. Quote
CHiLL Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Bah, worth a try. Have you got the latest Nvidia drivers? Quote
Thrill Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Have you got latest version of DirectX? If not update it. Make sure you update all drivers, mouse, keyboard etc - it could be a bug. Try running the game in compatibility mode for XP, see if that works Quote
Shaunno Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Could try running it in administrator, plus you could check your temps after so much game time see if they are getting to high. Quote
Scotteh Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Cheers guys, I'll look into this later. Quote
Scotteh Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Right, tried them and all the drivers are up to date and running fine... But after installing the patches, whenever I run Crysis now it doesn't open and says 'Crysis has stopped working.' Wtf? Have I wasted £20 here? Quote
Thrill Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Hi, You should try re installing Crysis. You tried comaptibility mode, run as admin? Quote
Scotteh Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Yeah, tried that Thrill. I'll reinstall soon, a lot of hassle though for one game. :/ Quote
Thrill Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Ah okay mate. Try reinstalling though, if not we'll try some more options! Quote
Shaunno Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Crysis 2 dont crash for me mate so I dont know what is different for you. Quote
