Myth of Echelon
I have creative a Flash App that functions as multiple social networking search engines and my friend wishes to use it as his background for fast access to these websites. Are .swf's supported as backgrounds on Windows 7? If so, how do I go about making this a reality?
ford1001
i don't believe so, i may be wrong though, haven't used Windows 7 for about a month
CHiLL
I'm pretty sure only standard image formats can be used for Windows 7 backgrounds, such as JPG, BMP, PNG, etc.

webdevuser
Well, I'm sure that Windows 7 can not use flash as background, but Windows 7 gadget are coded using Html/Css, so MAYBE you can also include flash in gadgets. I will google it, and edit this topic when I have the answer. *Edit, I Confirm Flash can be used in Windows Vista/7 gadget. It seems that some functions may not always work, but the general concept of using flash in gadget is possible.
