Jessi
I've kind of been avoiding Facebook for the last while, especially with the new timelines being pushed to fanpages, too. I know one of the biggest things with the chance is that I'll no longer have my welcome tab page that I love so much. I'm dreading creating a new banner to work for the page, too, sigh. So for those who have already switched or going to soon, have you designed your banner? Do you have any tips or suggestions of ways to make it personalized, without distracting people or turning them away?
ChuckTesta
I've also been thinking about this. I thought about taking a snapshot of my forum header and using that as a banner, but thought that to be too ugly. I think i'm going going to try and come up with something that is sexy and HD. Something your readers can relate to.
GeeOne
Just wondering, timeline can be reverse ? G!
Administrators Nathan Posted March 9, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2012 Yeah need an HD image for up there for sure. I'm trying to hold off as long as possible to see what others do with that spot. @Off Walk: right now you can preview it then go back to the old layout. Jessi
Just wondering, timeline can be reverse ? Do you mean can you go back to the old format? Yes, until the end of the month. So you can try it out and test things out for a while still. By next month, though, they'll be forced live on everybody's pages and there will be no other choice. Hardison
There is a browser plug-in called Facebook purity that you customize Facebook including removing all elements of the timeline. This guy has a facebook page which seems to get deleted by Facebook without cause. I haven't tried they plug-in yet, but can't wait to give it a try. Unfortunately, just because it would change the way you see your own page and give you the comfort of seeing it under the old format, it won't do anything for anybody else. You'll still need to preview and adjust it so you can make sure it looks decent for anybody else who visits your page.

Hmm, I may have to delete my account if that's true. i get so annoyed when sites like that force such horrible changes on their members. Collin1000
So now that the change was forced for everyone - what are you all doing? Seen any unique pages yet? I've seen some good examples of pages from those that I have "liked" - https://www.facebook.com/metrolink https://www.facebook.com/zendesk https://www.facebook.com/livechat https://www.facebook...subaruofamerica https://www.facebook...ackmilkclothing https://www.facebook.com/Spotify
Administrators Nathan Posted April 1, 2012 Administrators Share Posted April 1, 2012 I would like to come up with a creative one like this for mine.
Collin1000
All of those are insanely cool. I now feel the need to do something equally as cool, except I'm not the creative type. At all. Grr. :/
Hardison
Those are some really great timeline examples. I think the Timeline looks better on Fan Pages. It a bit confusing on the profiles though. My personal profile looks the same. I was not switched to the Timeline. Keeping my fingers crossed, but I think it's only a matter of time. Yes, all pages have now been forced over, personal profiles are still rolling out. You still have a few days left of the old design.

If you are still working on your banner, you should make sure you're keeping within those lines, too.
Sherlock
I preferred the Old layout!! Im no good at design work. I hate the timeline....
tosaytheleast
Wow! Those banners that admin just showed were really cool but I'd still stick with the old layout because I think it is more organized than using timeline. I think that timeline uses a lot of images displayed on your profile and in return, it disorganized things. Lucky me I am yet to click or accidentally clicked that timeline button. bryce12
I wish I had that kind of imagination. My Facebook page banner sucks and I don't have time to jazz it up. Here are some cool Facebook timeline banners from Corporates http://www.creativeguerrillamarketing.com/guerrilla-marketing/20-branded-company-facebook-timelines/
Victor Leigh
This is getting interesting. Just so happens that I am tinkering with a header banner for one of my sites at the moment. Might as well make something for my Facebook page, too. Thanks for the inspiration. Anyone posting their possibilities?
