Jessi Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I've kind of been avoiding Facebook for the last while, especially with the new timelines being pushed to fanpages, too. I know one of the biggest things with the chance is that I'll no longer have my welcome tab page that I love so much. I'm dreading creating a new banner to work for the page, too, sigh. So for those who have already switched or going to soon, have you designed your banner? Do you have any tips or suggestions of ways to make it personalized, without distracting people or turning them away? Quote

I thought about taking a snapshot of my forum header and using that as a banner, but thought that to be too ugly. I think i'm going going to try and come up with something that is sexy and HD. Something your readers can relate to. Quote

So you can try it out and test things out for a while still. By next month, though, they'll be forced live on everybody's pages and there will be no other choice. Quote
Hardison Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 There is a browser plug-in called Facebook purity that you customize Facebook including removing all elements of the timeline. This guy has a facebook page which seems to get deleted by Facebook without cause. I haven't tried they plug-in yet, but can't wait to give it a try. Quote

Unfortunately, just because it would change the way you see your own page and give you the comfort of seeing it under the old format, it won't do anything for anybody else. You'll still need to preview and adjust it so you can make sure it looks decent for anybody else who visits your page. Quote

My personal profile looks the same. I was not switched to the Timeline. Keeping my fingers crossed, but I think it's only a matter of time. Quote

Those banners that admin just showed were really cool but I'd still stick with the old layout because I think it is more organized than using timeline. I think that timeline uses a lot of images displayed on your profile and in return, it disorganized things. Lucky me I am yet to click or accidentally clicked that timeline button. Quote
