thefellow3j Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Now, let's be honest. Some error messages just should not be. I know I've seen my fair share of these: Has anyone seen anything worse? I'd like to know. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted March 12, 2012 Administrators Posted March 12, 2012 heh, is that pic for real? Quote
thefellow3j Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 I've seen plenty of this type. One time I've seen this error message relates to GDI+ failing. For Visual Studio 2008, there is a .NET plug-in known as "Mole," which uses a System.Windows.Forms.Form to display a debugger visualizer with WPF content. Every so often, this message would come up, and the graphics window where a DataGridView was supposed to go gets a big red X instead. I never did figure out how that error was caused... (it wasn't my plug-in, but... I was curious...) Quote
mrnothersan Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Wow, lol. That must be weird, if it's real of cause. Badly developed programs! You don't actually know whether it's an error or not. good one! Quote
SpikeTheLobster Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 LOL, talk about confusing! I think the worst one I've seen was on a database developed in Paradox, many years ago. The grey box popped up. Title: "Error". OK button. Red error circle graphic. And no text... Quote
Collin1000 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 There's plenty of these posted on DailyWTF, always good for a read. http://thedailywtf.com/Series/Error_0x27_d.aspx I think the worst I've ever seen was my bank account, which gave me an error for my password being too long. >_< Quote
DarkGizmo Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Funniest I've seen was years ago back when I was running Windows XP, I was trying to install a game and i kept getting the error message "Error: This software is not compatible with this version of Windows XP" yet, it said it on the box that it was compatible and i knew for a fact it was compatible. More so it said "This version of Windows XP" instead of just "This version of Windows" which I thought was funny/strange. Quote
bryce12 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 The funniest error I saw showed up "Error John" on Production environment. Later we found out that the programmer who was testing the system had inserted an alert in between the modules and didn't remove it before moving the code to production. Imagine the embarrassment it caused when we confronted the guy with this Quote
aditk8149 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I used to get this error when my keyboard port was facing some issues! "Keyboard Error - Press F2 to Continue" You may have seen these kind of things on facebook pages, but seriously, I've faced this error message! Quote
SpikeTheLobster Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 "Keyboard Error - Press F2 to Continue" Standard BIOS message: unless you switch off keyboard error detection it will say that - it's intended to get you to plug in a keyboard, since just about all machines need one. Just unplug your keyboard, reboot and you'll see it. But it's always made me smile, too. Quote
CHiLL Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 It makes about as much sense and the Engerish you get from scam callers. Quote
