Anyone know how long it takes for Google to start indexing you site again?

I had a dev environment setup and was redesigning a site. Within Wordpress I blocked bots. Then once I was done moved the site over and then turned off the "block search engines" setting.

Google Webmaster Tools still shows as though I'm blocking the bots via Robots.txt, but I turned this off over 12 hours ago.

I tested my site out on: http://phpweby.com/services/robots and it says all bots are allowed, so I'm guess Google just needs to refresh.

I know it takes 2-3 weeks when you've just added your website, but not sure what it is if you've edited something. It might be the same, or it might be much quicker. I am sure there is an article on it somewhere.

Ah you were right on the 24 hours, like clock work it checked it again and I'm good to go.

@mrnothersan: Mine was a 4 year old site I didn't mean to block, so guessing that's why it came back quickly.

Depends on a few things, how old the site is, etc. :) I'd say 12 hours sounds about right for editing a robots.txt file. It took about 10 hours for me when I edited my robots.txt file.
