Administrators Nathan Posted March 20, 2012 Administrators Posted March 20, 2012 What do you think about header link bars? What I mean is a bar that is in the header of all the website you run in your network. An Example: http://www.collegehumor.com/ At the very top see the links to all the site in their network? Think this is beneficial or even good at transferring traffic back and forth between sites? I was thinking about creating one for all of mine. Does it matter if they are not all in the same niche? mrnothersan Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I think that would be a good idea and can be beneficial. That way, you would get more traffic directed towards your "network" of websites rather than primarily just one website. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted March 20, 2012 Author Administrators Posted March 20, 2012 I'm going to create one either way I think just to learn how, off to find a tutorial now. Quote
TheMightyEddy Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Here's my feedback on it. I think it looks nice but definitely can do some work. Though I would think it's a good idea to add one. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted March 20, 2012 Author Administrators Posted March 20, 2012 Would it be better if it was across the bottom of the screen or top? Quote
Amdac Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Would it be better if it was across the bottom of the screen or top? I'd go with the top. At the bottom it either wont be seen unless you scroll all the down, or it will constantly cover up content if you use a fixed position. If it's at the top however, you can just have it display normally and still be confident that it will be seen. Quote
Godric Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I think the header would be best if its a new site, but after it got some popularity its better to make it footer so that members and readers dont get too distracted. Quote
TehPhantom Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 It mostly depends on the use, I mean, I own a gaming network myself, and any websites created under our network will have that header bar that leads to the official site and our community. Quote
BlackHatClass Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I actually tried one for one of my blogs with decent traffic. I added an opt-in to the bar, and believe it or not, it did convert pretty well. Quote
