S.O. Price Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 It's nice to have this discussion. I don't know why .net isn't used as much (at this point) as .com. After all, is it any more difficult to type .net instead of .com? If I saw a site somewhere and it said .net I wouldn't have a problem looking it up. I know .net is just as legitimate as .com. It's good to hear everyone's comments because it sounds like everybody else is ok with .net too. If I buy another name at some point, I'll definitely keep .net in mind as a viable option. Quote
Victor Leigh Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I think the difference between dot com and dot net is only in the beginning. People tend to assume that any domain name ends in dot com. However when the site is up and running popularly, it doesn't make any difference any more. The regular visitors have already bookmarked the site and they go there without typing anything in the address bar. Quote
Marc Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I dont think it makes the slightest difference what extention you have if Im honest. If you have a good site then your .net, .com, .org, .co.uk etc is worth money. If not its not worth much at all. The value of a domain extention depends on the site and the site alone Quote
