Jessi
Because it's addictive. The biggest thing that stood out to me from that is the repins vs retweets. People repin A LOT so any given pin can reach people way outside your own audience. Tweets, though? Rarely retweeted and relies much more heavily on having the right audience. Godric
I agree, I will be releasing a software that a friend have been developing for pinterest soon. Right now I am making some sales pages. Check out the forum in a day. The software should bring massive traffic from pinterest. Nathan

Administrators Nathan Posted March 28, 2012 Administrators Share Posted March 28, 2012 I already use a set of Pinterest bots, and they are so freaking awesome. Generated 5k+ visits in just 2 days.. I'm not sure randomly pinning stuff, like Nathan mentioned, would be that useful long term.
Godric
Sorry about the wait everyone. I was a bit preoccupied with my college project. And yes it did lauch on 24th. Sorry about the delay again. DarkGizmo
We're actually discussing Pinterest and other social networking sites like Pinterest in my web design class as I'm posting this. I've never actually used Pinterest though but I have heard of it (actually, I think I first encountered it on here! ) Pretty funny actually. BlackHatClass
To do what? Just to randomly pin stuff automatically? Nope. It actually does a lot. Posting comments on pins, on popular pins, reposting popular pins, monetizing pins, following, liking etc etc.. It's like a swiss army knife of Pinterest
BlackHatClass
Care to share? I'm not sure randomly pinning stuff, like Nathan mentioned, would be that useful long term. It's a paid bundle. Costs $250. If you need, PM me, I'll send you the sales page link.

Jessi
Here's another infographic you might be interested in. The strangest part for me is that even though they're rapidly growing like this, they're still technically in private beta, requiring people to get invitations to use the site. SpikeTheLobster
I was thinking about this today and wondering "Why is it so popular?" - I think I figured it out. All that analysis on the first infographic is very interesting (especially to ergonomics people, I'm sure) but when it comes down to it, there's actually a much, much simpler reason. Why is it so popular? Because people can use it EXACTLY like Facebook without all the ads, marketing, spam and crap. The stream is still relatively pure, although when I looked this morning, the "Whatever-site.com is now on Pinterest! Follow us and repin!" posts were already growing in number to the point where they're noticeable. I give it a few weeks, then it'll get bloated, invaded and sullied to the point where people start talking about it in the same way as Facebook... and the site owners start putting monetisation all over it. Call me a cynic but you KNOW it's going to happen.
Jessi
Oh it's definitely more bloated now than it was before even, but technically it's been around since 2010, so it's not exactly "new" either. It just finally hit mainstream stuff outside of mommy bloggers, so all you SEO obsessed, viral marketing addicted, bloated spammers are what's ruining it now. Hopefully that just dies down and gets back to mostly how it was being used before anyway.
Gidget
I still haven't jumped on the Pinterest wagon like everyone else, just yet. It's only a matter of time before I finally give in & start participating in this new phenomenon. At any rate, awesome infographics! Thanks for sharing! SpikeTheLobster
If you're going to get in, get in NOW. Over the past week I've noticed another significant increase in marketers. The images with prices on them and URLs in the text have started big-time. If you don't do it now, you'll be behind the curve. Personally, I'm pinning less because I hate marketing spam but hey, that's just me.
BlackHatClass
Post it up here, I don't mind. It's the PinPalBot or something.. It's on WF!
paolochicha
Whether Pinterest is just a fad, or the next big thing is a debate going on in the legal marketing world right now. Marketers are trying to figure out a way to fit the square peg of legal marketing into the round peg of images on Pinterest. Time will tell who is right. zenoglitch
Yeah, PinPal Bot ( http://pinpalbot.com/ ) is a beast ... people are raking in some serious affiliate commission, as far is the law is concerned it's 100% legitimate. It's the Robin Hood of internet marketing. It's getting harder and harder for the average small business / affiliate to make it on the internet. Toolsets like this open the door to both good and bad uses in my opinion. Free review copy for Nathan if he wants it.
