Administrators Nathan Posted April 13, 2012 Administrators Posted April 13, 2012 What's the oldest Domain you own? Don't know? You can look it up here: http://Digitize Design.net/tools/whois.html The-Quota.com - 01-04-2008 - Too bad I let this one drop it was back from 2004. LOLForums.com - 11-05-2007 Quote
Wiley Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Just sold one registered in 1996. Back then it was $150 to register names. Several years before that they were free, but had a limit to how many you could have. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted April 13, 2012 Author Administrators Posted April 13, 2012 Damn, I was too young to even think to buy them back then, wish I would have though, could be retired now with the right purchases! But hindsight... So 1996 was it developed, bet that brought x,xxx - xx,xxx? Quote
bryce12 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I have is a 5 year old domain though I don't do anything on it these days. I am just keeping it for nostalgia reasons..lol. I was pretty yound when domain gold rush started, wish I had snapped few single word .COMs back then. Quote
BlackHatClass Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Won't reveal the domain for obvious reasons, but the oldest I have is about 4 years old.. Quote

BlackHatClass Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 What reasons? Can't associate it with myself publicy... Quote
Amdac Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 My two oldest domains. I have a bunch tied with the second place one. Domain Name: HACKTECH.ORG Created On: 11-Jul-1999 Domain Name: AMDAC.COM Created on: 12-Jan-2002 Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted April 23, 2012 Author Administrators Posted April 23, 2012 I like hacktech.org why don't you develop it? Quote
Amdac Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I like hacktech.org why don't you develop it? It was a pretty famous site around 1999-2003. Quote
LosAngelesLover Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I have a 7 year old site, but as the same reason as somebody above, I can't associate the site with myself for many reasons. Quote
Jessi Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Hmm, looks like the oldest one currently is from November 2007. I thought I bought it before then. Actually, I thought it was at least a year older than that, but I guess not! Quote
crumblepie Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 (edited) I have one regged in 2001. Having trouble selling it for even a $100! Edited May 6, 2012 by crumblepie Quote
Jessi Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I have one regged in 2001. Having trouble selling it for even a $100! Well does it have content on it? Does it have backlinks? Even an old domain doesn't mean much of anything if it doesn't actually have something that makes it valuable, you know? Quote
youtubedomination Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Some quick facts about popular sites. Mine wasn't registered until two years ago. Google. 1997-09-15 Yahoo. 1995-01-18 Apple. 1987-02-19 Youtube. 2005-02-15 Facebook. 1997-03-29 Tumblr. 2006-06-08 Twitter. 2000-01-21 Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted July 3, 2012 Author Administrators Posted July 3, 2012 That's crazy, Facebook in 97? I think that may be a typo. I don't remember seeing Facebook until 2005 or so? Quote
__Darknite Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It was registered in 1997, doesn't mean it was used in 1997 Quote
Victor Leigh Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 My main domain is coming into its third renewal. So it's almost three years old now. I haven't really done as much with it as I should have. Still I shouldn't be too unhappy with the results. So far, it has got only PR3 and between 3-4K pageviews per day. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted July 3, 2012 Author Administrators Posted July 3, 2012 It was registered in 1997, doesn't mean it was used in 1997 Yeah but originally it was called thefacebook, then later changed so would have figured it wouldn't have been bought until years after the original. Quote
