YouTube Opens Partner Program to Everyone

Recommended Posts

YouTube‘s Partner Program, previously opened only to producers of very popular content, is now open to all content creators from the 20 countries where the program is available.

To become a YouTube Partner, you need to enable your YouTube account and successfully monetize at least one of your videos.

YouTube’s guidelines for successful monetization are here, but in a nutshell, your best bet is to create original content while owning all the rights to commercially use all the visuals and audio in your video.

YouTube Partner program is currently available to everyone in these countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States.

Newcomers to the program won’t immediately enjoy all the perks popular content creators have, such as custom thumbnails and banners. “We are working on making these and other features available to more newly-made partners over time,” says YouTube.

What do you think about this? I think Google is facing shortage of Impressions lol.

I think it is difficult to participate since one must own the rights to images and music used in the video. But I agree its great news for content producers, they can now earn top dollars for their efforts. Hope they extend the program for more countries.

I had just gotten one of those Google Partner requests in my e-mail account a few months ago too! Although I didn't accept it, as the videos I had weren't exactly getting that many views, and having to process the cheques, which probably amounted to only a few dollars, would have been more of a hassle then not. It'll surely be interesting to see how opening up this programme turns out, though!

The idea of YouTube being more open to everyone is one that I am really looking forward to. I've always been a strong believer in what YouTube set out to be (a place where anyone could create their own online TV Show) however when the idea of money comes bouncing around... suddenly your sitting down thinking about who you can get more views to get more money... It distracts from the idea of being all 'Hey lets do something cool and turn it into a show!

Flip side of that I know that places like TGN are making HUGE amounts of money over just releasing videos.

This is actually a great idea. Also, for you who don't create everything in your video. It is easy to find royalty-free music, pictures, etc.

I'm thinking in doing different Gaming Machinimas, maybe partner up with a company as well. This is a great move from Googles/Youtubes part, hopefully it will lead to more successfulness.

Step 1. Make a Fresh Youtube Account

Step 2. Create a few Unique videos (i just use text), DO NOT add Music or use copyrighted content.

Step 3. Send Views And likes to your videos Vagex is the best

Step 4. in 2-3 weeks you will get an email from Youtube to Monetize Your whole channel Not just one video !

Step 5. Profit??

I wish I could make a few dollars off of my video. I only have 1 video on youtube right now that is 100% unique but it doesn't seem to get too many views. 900ish in 10 months is pretty bad. :(

How much time have you devoted in getting the word out about your video? Also, is it something crazy cool that someone is going to find interesting? Not saying you have boring content, but I'd like to take a look at the video to see where exactly you can improve at in order to get more views.

It's the dyno tune of my car, nothing too exciting for the average person. :D It does seem to show up for quite a few search terms, I find it fairly often myself while searching.

Why, is it US only? And roughly how many views would you need to make, say $100?

Strange, It seems I've only just signed up for a YouTube account and already I can monazite my videos.

Now this is strange.

Don't bother.

They told me to join. I thought it was weird. Because 20 of my videos total get about 200~300 views per day. So I joined. Then Google adsense banned my account in 12 days after I just earned $5 out of total legit views. No invalid clicks, but "Risk of invalid clicks" and no other specific reason.

Google is the sh1t. Your account will be disabled out of blue and you will never be able to talk to a real human being for the issue. Everything is automatic.

All my videos were legit too. It's all about my own home aquariums.

This is a repetition of points made in your other thread. Please keep them to one thread only.

a LOT!!! I've been a partner on YouTube since before the great giveaway. I've not made more than $100 on YouTube since.... and it's been over 2 years!

This is pretty exciting. I don't release content myself, but I bet there'll be a lot more people creating awesome content thanks to a slightly higher budget than previously, or an incentive.

I am really hoping this is what will happen

It's pretty similar to having adsense on your sites then. Not very lucrative.

What a wonderful idea to help promote higher content on YouTube. I'm excited to see how this will turn out, content producers will produce higher content to get the extra views, which will get them extra money, I think this is a good move by YouTube.

Well, without all of the tools available to normal partnered YouTube channels, such as the imaged usernames and things like that, I don't think these are real partnerships. They're more about trying to get people onside and to contribute more content that can make YouTube money... All the requirements for a partnership are still there in order to get the full perks.

This is kind of depressing but good at the same time. I liked seeing people who work hard get rewarded. Now I suppose you can get money for video taping cracking open an egg.

I don't think YouTube is losing their impression but rather the opposite. The success of the current famous YouTube partners has the whole world begging for their shot at fame. There are a lot great video content all over YouTube, they just don't exercise it because they won't get paid. Google is all about the money, even from the start. This move is their way of reaching out to the world and their opportunity to bank big! If they have a YouTube partner, let's say in Japan. They could use his YouTube account to advertise to Japan considering that the Japanese would support their fellow Japanese. I hope I made a point.
