Thomas Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Will my video game stream channel be eligible? It wasn't before because the game that I was playing wasn't really mine. :/ I know there are rules when it comes to gaming videos as just game footage isn't allowed however commentary, tactics and guides are. I suggest you check out TGN as they have loads of guides and even partner channels if you meet the guidelines. Quote
Marc Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I recon we could make money on this from our site. I dont do the videos personally, one of the other admin does, however everything used is either our own content or free to use. Quote
JHTech100 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm glad that Google/YouTube chose to do this because I will be able to monetize videos in the future when I get a channel finally rolling. But I just don't trust Google, as some other people have mentioned. They're just dirty. Quote
youtubedomination Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Don't bother. They told me to join. I thought it was weird. Because 20 of my videos total get about 200~300 views per day. So I joined. Then Google adsense banned my account in 12 days after I just earned $5 out of total legit views. No invalid clicks, but "Risk of invalid clicks" and no other specific reason. Google is the sh1t. Your account will be disabled out of blue and you will never be able to talk to a real human being for the issue. Everything is automatic. All my videos were legit too. It's all about my own home aquariums. Edit by CHiLL: This is a repetition of points made in your other thread. Please keep them to one thread only. What kind of content was in your video? I've had no problem with Google Adsense although I don't use them for YouTube, just for monetizing my website. Quote
youtubedomination Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Also, after emailing Google multiple times you can still apply for the standard partnership with custom thumbnails, banners, etc. http://www.youtube.com/partners/contact_info?page=start&partner_type=C Quote
Ram8349 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 What kind of content was in your video? I've had no problem with Google Adsense although I don't use them for YouTube, just for monetizing my website. I thought it was made quite clear that the content of the videos had nothing to do with the ban. It was disabled for "Risk of invalid clicks". That is their "reason" and the only excuse. Basically, they were saying there might be invalid clicks in the future. If you must know, all of them are home made videos of aquarium fish. Quote
themdno Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I think this is great, and I'm having a lot of fun producing all kinds of new content to be monetized. I've already gotten some good results, but there is so much room for improvement. I love making videos, so to get paid for it, is a huge bonus. I could make videos for free, and still be having a great time. KMRock 1 Quote
Jessi Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I thought I would really like this. It meant that people like me, who might just be starting out, could potentially get in and make some money, too. On the downside, though, it meant -everybody- started having ads on their videos....and people started producing more stupid content in the hopes of making money. Bleh. Quote

beans902 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 At least people can now earn money from the giant, l think we will see more people taking advantage of this by making more video's that they have created themselves including the music. Quote
ashwinr1 Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Looks like a good idea! But unfortunately it is going to take time before it comes to my country India At least we can be prepared when it comes! Quote
westmixxin Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Finally YouTube came up with a way for content providers to actually make money off their video content. If you have a good channel on Youtube you actually can get paid what you deserve, this is actually great news for many of content providers, especially those that are in the music industry. Now the music industry can calculate the YouTube earnings on top of the radio earnings as well, it took them long enough they should've gotten this together years ago. Quote
xbrix Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 They've recently just changed it back to everyone can't join. I think that they changed it back because too many people were joining, and it was sorta ruining it, since people were joining with zero subscribers. They haven't made it as hard to join as it was when they first started it though. When they first started it, you had to be invited to join, but now all you have to do is fill out a form. Quote
