Good Music Headset

Hello all,

So I am looking to invest into a good quality headset to listen to music. I was looking at Beats but I hear the bass is all they really care about, with poor construction and breakages being often. Does anybody have any other suggestions as to what sort of headset I should get? I am looking for an over-ear headset btw.

Beatd by Dre. FTW! :)

You can get one at the low expense of your dream house in Paris!

Seriously though, there's no way they can possibly be worth the at least $100.00 (after finding a fantastic bargain sale on them).

You can get IE2 or MIE2i headphones from Bose. They are not cheap but then you would probably never complain about your headphones again.

the MIE2i headphones are designed for iPhones and Apple Products. I have a Windows Phone 7 Phone.

I've heard a lot of good things from fellow audiophiles about Sennheiser Headphones specifically for listening to music. Amazon is great for reading the hundreds or thousands of reviews. Sort by highest and lowest.

Personally I love the Audio-Technica ATH Series.

I use them for watching movies in surround sound. They sound fantastic.

Lately I've been using them for music too. The only drawback is no noise cancelling, so anyone around you can hear what you're listening to. Another positive would be price range. The cheapest in the series still has great quality sound.

Again, the reviews on Amazon are great for finding out the pros and cons of headphones.

You'll have to be more specific. Are you looking for in-ear headphones or on-ear/over-ear? Also do you prefer bass over clarity?

I know that Sony produces a lot of good headphones and earbuds, whatever you want to call them.

I would never go with Beats by Dre. They are way to overpriced and not even that good. People only use them because they are popular, they follow trends. I would go with Sony's products.

You may check out MEElectronics M6-BK Sport Sound-Isolating In-Ear Headphones. These are solid performing earphones at a reasonable price. They fit comfortable in your ear and do seem to help diminish outside noise.

I've had a pair of Sennheiser CX300-II, and they were excellent. They are in-ear / ear canal headphones, as opposed to over-ear. Great noise cancellelation, and good bass. Not too much, but just enough. The only reason I don't have them now is because the wire broke in the left earpiece. But that was because of excessive movement (at the gym on running machines, etc), not because they're poor quality.

Don't get Beats! They are over priced. You can get much better quality for the steep price tag. Sennheiser makes very good headphones, take a look at those.

I think he should definitely go with MEElectronics M6-BK Sport Sound-Isolating In-Ear Headphones... They are the best in my opinion :).

I don't have any at the moment, I'm saving up my money at the moment for an Ipad in a few days, with birthday money, and then after that a Macbook Pro when the 2012 edition is announced. Probably around August/Septemberish
