ford1001 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 What is your favorite gaming console and why? I choose the Xbox 360. It is more than gaming now with media being a major point of view. Vevo was recently launched and I have been loving it! Quote
Engo Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I don't like any consoles. Not as "main gaming device". But for playing with friends I prefer xBox 360 too, but just because I like the controllers more. On the other hand, playstation is free of charge for playing online. I also heard there will be a new generation of xBox and Playstation soon!? Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted April 18, 2012 Administrators Posted April 18, 2012 Does a PC count? I know I know it doesn't, but I do all my gaming on the PC. Quote
ChuckTesta Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Well, while i like the PC... i'm an avid xbox (console) guy. I've been on the box for 7 years now, and don't plan on leaving! I will say, Diablo 3 is going to be the sole purpose of me gaming on PC in the very near future. Quote
CHiLL Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The PC is my main platform for playing games, and the Xbox 360 is second. Though over the years, the N64 and PS2 have to top the list with the PC and Xbox 360. Quote
jmsben12 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 PC. Unlimited upgrades, the most keybinds for more complex games, fastest reaction time with the improving technology of the gaming peripherals, and about 20+ years of backwards compatibility. You can do things with PC versions of games that you can't possibly touch with a controller. I do have a special place for another platform. The hackability and portability of the PSP. I couldn't believe how fast I hit 100 hours in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. PS3 and 360 are also fantastic. They each have their own 10/10 titles. Unfortunately my Wii doesn't get any play time unless friends come over and want to play Super Smash Bros. PSvita has potential but it's not looking too good right now. 3DS is solid. -James Engo 1 Quote
ChuckTesta Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 ^^^Unlimited upgrades is not true. A board can only support so much. RAM slots have a limit, Processor slots only accept certain pin layouts... etc. Quote
CHiLL Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 ^^^Unlimited upgrades is not true. A board can only support so much. RAM slots have a limit, Processor slots only accept certain pin layouts... etc. It depends how you want to define it. A PC is fully customisable, but after a while you end up with 100% different parts. After a while, the board will be too outdated to support a new processor model. But replacing the board isn't hard, nor is buying and fitting the matching processor and RAM. But you could still use the same graphics card, power supply, DVD drive, HDD/SSD, etc. Quote
Grumpy Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Xbox 360 without a doubt. It has the most owners and online players than all other consoles put together, has more up-time than all others and is generally a better console with less hackers, glitchers and cheaters. And, of course, Xbox Live Enforcement Teams take action upon accounts breaking the rules, which is always a good thing. Quote
Creaky Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I would go with the 360, I don have a PS3 as well though but it doesn't get used that often. Quote
Thomas Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I will always remember going out and buying my PS2 for my 10th Birthday. It was brand new and shiny and I had to wait just a couple more days before I got it because if we went to this special show I would get a better deal (Although I obviously didn't care what kind of deal I was getting as long as I got what the amazing PS2!) Since then I've had an XBox 360 although it broke and got sent a brand new one that I then sold on and a wii. I have to say that the XBox and PlayStation are simply to close to compare. People will always choose their personal preferences over anything and normally 1 or 2 games won't make or break a console. I've always gamed on my PC as my first choose as it simply has the advantage over all over consoles of being a PC. I mean it's nearly limitless what you can do with one of them when you compare it to an standard console. Anyway I'm dragging this out far to much. PS2 is always going to be my favourite. It's even hooked up now to my TV! jmsben12 1 Quote
GOKuCommander Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Xbox 360 is much better for socializing and competitive gaming. PS3 is more for just relaxing and playing alone. I use my Xbox more often than my PS3 as I don't have any games that my other friends have for PS3 and you are unable to talk with them. Quote
KevinN Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I'm all in for PS3. That's what I use, and that's what I love! Quote
Fallace Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I prefer the PS3, there are many reasons for that. However, I got an Xbox 360 last christmas, and I'm finding that their upgraded dash and new media options are very impressive. Sony has to ramp up the effort on the media front at this point. Quote
Jessi Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Does a PC count? I know I know it doesn't, but I do all my gaming on the PC. Same here. I pretty much never game on an actual console any more. And if I do, I'm going to go all the way back to the NES usually, lol. I do like being able to use an Xbox 360 controller at the PC, but I don't normally play games where that's something I would want to do even. Quote
xtinguish Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Personally I think the best console would have to be xbox 360. It's simplistic and awesome. Not to mention it supports the Halo series! Quote
Ezekiel Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Favorite consoles huh? I've read a lot of these topics way back. A fight between Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii. I currently own an official PS3 (not jailbroken) and it's a blast. I've played some games on my cousin's Xbox 360 and for me it was fine but growing up playing PS1 & PS 2 games with my dad makes me think PlayStation is still better than Xbox (no offense). I love playing on my PS3 and I wouldn't trade it for an Xbox 360 or Wii. So yeah, PlayStation is still the best (for me). Quote
shinastray Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 PS2, hands down. Amazing game library and pretty amazing hardware (when launched). Plus it had backwards compatibility with PS games, meaning I could enjoy 2 generations on a single console. I guess it helps that the developers weren't so deep into the cash cow side of the force back then. For portables, GBA and PSP mainly for size and library. If we're talking about current generation, then I'll have to go with the PS3 for the hardware and some of my favorite franchises. Quote
ljepilo Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Does a PC count? I know I know it doesn't, but I do all my gaming on the PC. PC counts only if you have powerful graphic card . Quote
merlyn73 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 My primary gaming source has always been my PC. The graphics and modability (is that a word?) are the clincher for me. That and if you have a powerful enough machine, you can emulate just about any console out there. Err....not that I would know about that sort of thing.. Quote
tetutato Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I mainly game on the PC but if I had to decide, I'd pick the PS3 just because it has Free Online mode. Quote
Garrett Erb Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Currently 360...however; nothing is more fun then playing some good old Super Nintendo! Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, man the list goes on! Quote
Godric Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 First priority is PC and then the PlayStation 3. Everything else is le duste`. Quote
psufootball Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Of all time I would have to go with the PS2. The game library is insane. For this generation I like the 360. There is also the PC, the ultimate piece of gaming equipment, but I don't count that as a game console. Quote
