Godric Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Suppose you got your PayPal got limited. What will you use then? For me It will be Moneybookers, I like their service and its quite cheap fees comparing to PayPal fees. What option do you like? As for PayPal, they suck when ever you got a decent amount of payment, the tend to freeze the account. That is way too irritating. Quote
ChuckTesta Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 What about google merchant account? I have that, and paypal. Either are fine for me. Godric 1 Quote
Jessi Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I only use PayPal and credit cards. And yes, I've had my PayPal account limited more than once, which was a huge hassle to free up a couple of those times, ultimately freezing my income until I got it straightened out. I hate their fees; I hate their customer service; I hate how many situations are handled. But they -are- the mainstream payment method, so that's what I go with. If a site allows just credit card payments to be made for purchases instead of paypal, then I usually go with that, too. ChuckTesta, ashimashi and Godric 3 Quote
crumblepie Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Erm, maybe Plimus, though that's not exactly a payment method.. but you can sell products through it and they have many withdrawal options to choose from. Oh, and the good thing is they offer Paypal to YOUR customers even if you don't have Paypal yourself. Best of both worlds Hope this helps someone! Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 1, 2012 Administrators Posted May 1, 2012 I've integrated Intuit Quickbooks credit card processing into one of my websites about 3 months ago. It works pretty well, but I have had 3-4 charge backs since. Where people dispute the charge on their card. Unfortunately they won due to the fact by default Intuit wasn't setup to check the billing address on the card. So fixed that and hopefully won't happen again. Godric 1 Quote

They are also good ATM. And you can waive the first 50$ for account creation with a code. I dont remember it right now, but I am sure you can find it over the internet. Quote

I only use Paypal and it is a pain just using paypal because of the accounts becoming limited everytime. It is really annoying at times. I usually just stick with credit card and Paypal (When it is working) Quote
Jessi Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Slightly off-topic from what I said before and for the thread itself, but I don't think it's worth a new topic.... For those that use other ones, which one is better....AlertPay or Moneybookers? I've never used either, but am going to need to choose soon for a site that won't allow anything except those, too. Hmm. Quote
Thomas Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Resently I had to review online payment gateways for an assignment. I choose PayPal, AlertPay and WorldPay. PayPal was the mainstream but there are lots of people saying that there are hidden limits or reasons to get banned when using them. On the flip side though everyone that uses Ebay must have a PayPal account since you must offer it as a payment method when using Ebay. (This might not be the case now). AlertPay was a little shady and felt a bit like it would allow dodgy dealings. WorldPay gave the impression that it was the premium version of PayPal handling payments for British Airways and most of the Uk's Rail Networks. Quote
xtinguish Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think paypal is good if you're not taking in big amounts of money at a time or spending big amounts. Besides that LR is good too. I'm more of a cash, debit, or paypal person. Quote
ljepilo Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 AlertPay,Moneybookers. Moneybookers are always my first choice aside of Paypal. Quote
xtinguish Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I actually just made an alertpay account and used it. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to use liberty Reserve. I can't seem to figure out how to put a debit card on it lol. I'm so old school!! Quote

In my case, my Paypal account became limited because I put off verifying it unless I have used it for almost a year. However, it only took me two days to have the limit lifted and those two days were not even working days. So the question of using an alternative to Paypal does not arise at all. Is your Paypal account verified already? Quote

Ezekiel Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 In the course of my internet marketing life I've been using two payment processors namely: Paypay & Alertpay (which is now Payza) Like what you said Godric, Paypal blocks too much payment processes and would be very irritating and useless for some people conducting their businesses online. While, Alertpay (which is now Payza) enables users to conduct unlimited payment processes which is a good choice if you're doing a lot of business online. Also, Alertpay/Payza has a low tax rate. So, if you're a casual person just looking to buy things on the internet I suggest Paypal but if you're a business man/woman online I would strongly recommend Alertypay/Payza. Some other payment processors are: Liberty Reserve Solid Trust Pay Quote
Godric Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Just curious. Why would a Paypal account become limited? However, it only took me two days to have the limit lifted and those two days were not even working days. So the question of using an alternative to Paypal does not arise at all. Is your Paypal account verified already? I am verified to the hilt. But if you hit 1k $ a month then bam you are limited. I am now using moneybookers. And with the low fees and no refund policy, I am already very happy. Paypal sucks and apart from using in Ebay, its a pointless trash in my opinion. A lot of my friends got their accounts limited even 2-5 year old accounts too. Just last week, a friend with 3k got his account limited. Quote
Jessi Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 It doesn't matter how long you've had your account....they can limit it at any point. It's not saying you can't use it or you're banned either. It just means you need to re-verify your information. Often times, I think it's their way of having a security measure in place because there's so much fraud. It's really annoying, but hey, what if my account really was compromised? I'd be happy they locked it when I hit that $1k amount or my IP showed that I was in a different area (which is one of the ways I've had my account locked before). Quote
rcturbos Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 After my PP got limited I got alertpay.. So far I have had no issues with it and the fees are pretty close to PP's. Quote
CHiLL Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 To be honest, I wouldn't use anything else. Paypal is even a last resort for me. Anything I buy online comes from my debit card. Failing that, then Paypal. Quote
ljepilo Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Does anyone here knows when will Payza/Alertpay enable the use of visa/master card debit & credit cards. It has been like 8 months since they disabled them, I'm still waiting to cashout all my money from there :/... Quote
bryce12 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Alertpay, Escrow and moneybookers are decent alternatives to Paypal. However they have their own limitations so in a way there is no true alternative to Paypal. I also like direct deposit but not every merchant or affiliate program provides it. Quote
tosaytheleast Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 It would be Payza (Alertpay) for me. I have both paypal and payza but I use paypal more because most jobs online pay through paypal. Both payment processors works the same actually but the best thing about payza is that they have their own debit card. Quote

Godric Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 I really hope the world will move towards bitcoin. Its a ton better although chances of getting scammed are also much greater on that system. Quote
