How much would you pay for forum posting?

Recommended Posts

Do they offer niche specific quality posts?

Anyone had experience with them?

14 cents each is still not cheap in my opinion. Consider it will take $140 for 1000 posts. How much benefits will mere 1000 forum posts bring? Questionable.

Lay out your exact expectations and it'll limit how many people sign up for your forum....and help guarantee you'll be getting higher quality posts. If you have anybody that isn't following through with what you want/need, you can always contact them, downrate them, or even remove them from getting paid to post on your site. You have quite a bit of control on that side.

For starting up a forum postloop if the best. But if you want to advertise then get private posters. The current rates on the freelancer sites are 30 cents for 60-100 word post with full profile and Avatar. And for 100+ with ultra high quality posts its 50c+. I dunno why you think that's high!! If its done correctly then you can get a ton of visitors to your site for sure.

Yeah, I am sure 1000 posts with good informative content can attract a few visitors from search engines. Yet, I am after much more than just search engine visitors. I want visitors to sign up and join the conversation. It will take much more than just 1000 or 5000 old posts to achieve. It will be more like taking hundreds of new posts per day for a very long period in order to attract enough new members to post equally amount of posts per day in order to continue the snowball when you finally stop paying for the posting services.

At 30~50 cents each post, even for just 100 new posts per day, you are going to spend $30~50 (per day) just to get people posting. 100 new posts per day is far from enough in my opinion. Minimal 200~300 new posts per day is needed for any amount of meaningful recruit.

Even at 14 cents, 300 posts per day will be $42 per day. It can quickly add up to be thousands of dollars just to make the forum appear active.

I have seen dead forum with over 30,000 members and over half a million of total posts. How do I know it is dead? All categories have the latest posts from days ago, some weeks ago, with 0 signed in member.

So a lot of content alone isn't going to attract new active members. You need a lot of new content and activities every day in order to have people to join and posting. Most people aren't going to join just to post something on an one month old thread. Nor they will join if they see nearly no new activity (Today), or at least the last a few days. They will also quickly leave and never come back again if their first threads do not get any good replies fast, or if they see no new interesting threads for them to reply to.

A forum posting company just spammed my contact email on my forum for posting service.

They offered something close to 50 cents (US) each post.

I think that is a huge rip off.

How much would you pay for quality forum posts?

Indeed it is, and if this 'company' spammed your email, they aren't very professional.

The thing is your points are valid. But to get actual members you either have to give incentive or have really good posts that are not found anywhere. Getting started by postloop is only the beginning, and the forum posting will give you decent traffic too. But if you have no good content, they wont even look toward your posts. That's why Its better to get some guest blog posts on popular blogs, that will give you some good participating members. After you got the bait, then you go for 200 posts a day advertising on other forum. Trust me this works.

I do that all the time, with my own team. I am planning on getting a Posting company set up, so that people can get better deals for cheaper price.

Dont depend on the posts and postloop, you wont get anywhere. The formula is laid, you just need to know how to use it. :D

Do you mean I should do guest posting on popular blogs? Or do you mean I should try to get some guests to post on my blogs?

If it is the second, how do I do it? I have a hard time to get anyone to write me something.

  • 3 weeks later...

I know others have said it too, but PostLoop is definitely your best bet. Let me try to describe it in slightly more detail for you so as to help you out.

The most cost effective package at PostLoop is 2,500 points. Considering the average points given per post made is around 1.57 at the moment, out of 2,500 points, you should get around 1,600 posts. This works out that you're paying around 14 cents a post, however, when you also add the points you'll be receiving from giving all of your new users ratings and possibly occasionally you gaining extra points when deleting some content, it's likely you're actually going to be paying around 13 cents per post. This is not a bad rate at all, and if your forum is niche-specific, that is fine... PostLoop can provide you with quality posters that know about your niche.

Getting 200 posts a day on your forum to get it started should be easy for you. With you contributing a small amount of this content yourself, and a small amount of the content coming from real sources after the initial day or two of PostLoop intervention, it's likely you'll be requiring around 160-170 posts per day to keep the activity levels up.

While this still may not be ideally cheap, if you manage everything properly, once your forum has become active you can make this money back through advertisements and premium memberships on your site(s), it's very easy.

I wish you the best of luck, and if you did wish to give PostLoop a try, I would really appreciate it if you'd sign up with my referral link (click here). It would help me out a lot.

Thank you! :)

Postloop would be the best for the dollar to post. Postloop also has to verify it's members to make sure they qualify. It's a great site for site owners and people looking to make a few bucks.

Yep it indeed is, I think its been like a year or so since postloop started in this type of business, and many people say that they are doing great.

I think it's been around for a few years. The site is great for everyone involved in it. The posters get about .05+ per post they make and the forum owners just buy a mass load of points and watch activity grow. It's great for traffic as well.

I think a more appropriate title for this thread would be "How to grow a forum". That's what I understand from the OP's subsequent posts. Here are some ideas on "How to grow a forum".

1. The farmer must know his stuff which means that the forum owner must have knowledge of the niche. Just as you cannot get a garden to produce anything by just buying seeds and throwing them at random all over the place, so, too, it's not possible to grow a forum by just throwing money at it.

2. The farmer must care about his plants. He must be prepared to go the extra mile to nurture them from little acorns until, hopefully, they grow into mighty oaks. In the same way, a forum owner must be dedicated enough to spend sleepless nights tending to his forum to remove the weeds, so to say, so that the right things will grow strong and healthy.

3. The farmer must never give up. With all the best technology in hand, a farmer will still be a failure if he quits at the first sign of trouble. Same with a forum owner who gives up. A forum owner who starts with the attitude that the difficult he will do now and the impossible will just take a bit longer has a very good chance of succeeding.

Disclaimer.

All the above are just theories, of course. And they will remain theories until they are put into practice.

This is how Postloop works:

Owners buy points with cash, Posters will see the forums & blogs with points. Poster will post to earn points and exchange it for real money, Owners will get posts and traffic but lose points. When the Poster earns enough money, the Poster will cashout and Postloop will pay them with the cash the Owners paid them. When the Owners run out of points, they will buy more points. Then rinse & repeat. It's a cycle.

That's basically the simplest way I could explain how Postloop works for the Owners & Posters. Hope you understood it.

Anyone had experience with them?

I use them for my forum. Many forum owners won't admit to using them because they think it makes their forum look dirty or something - that the posts aren't real. My experience is very positive. I've never paid for posts: I'm also a Postlooper and post on a variety of forums all over the place as part of building up my points.

Bear in mind that Postloop is a temporary traffic bump: it's a good way to get things started but as soon as your points run out, your forum will go quiet. It'll take a while to build enough organic traffic to sustain things without the paid traffic. It's also just a middleman, not a company that posts for you - the Postloopers are people like you and me, earning points (to convert to money or use to fund posts) for using the forums.

That said, depending on how clear and strict you are with your rules on the site, you can get great people. I have never had to ban anyone, only had to "have words" a couple of times just to clear up minor stuff and have gained a truly excellent group of interesting, interested individuals who actually care about my forum. Sure, they'll drop out when the money stops but at least they take the time to post well and participate while the cash keeps going. And I mean really participate - they even read the threads and continue the discussions instead of just posting their own response to the OP and sodding off to another potential money-earner. Very impressive.

One important note: Postloop is very contradictory. It has some odd rules, some weird loopholes and some annoyingly stupid stuff (and users). I've seen places get absolutely FLOODED with crap posts because they set their minimum level too low and didn't do enough moderation... and that's a good way to kill your forum for ever. Keep things under tight control at the start, make sure you have some serious anti-spam measures in place and it's a great way to bring people in.

Although I am certain you can get some really good forum posters for 20-30cents too.

*points to herself* If you ever need posts, I can generally conform to just about any niche and community vibe. I'll happily do them under different names/accounts, too, and this is definitely a case of "the more you pay, the more willing I am to go above and beyond your expectations," too. ;)

/done self-promoting

As Spike said about Postloop, you should be careful with your minimums and set a few limits. While setting your limits too high (like requiring a rating above 4.75, will greatly limit who can join your forum and post, the opposite extreme of having unlimited daily posts and no minimum rating can be devastating.

For reference, mine's set at 4.2 minimum with posts in the general off-topic areas not counting for points. And I'll also give a big positive nod on behalf of Jessi if you're looking for someone reliable. Straight 5 poster, always interesting and on-topic.

The price depends on the quality of the content. However, $0.50 seems like a massive rip off. I helped a friend of mine jumpstart his forum with Postloop and it was very successful, the posts weren't all on-topic at first but eventually things got weeded out.
