Gidget Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I have a great suggestion, the best tools that you can get is to have first the know how and then you will have everything for free. So I've found Website In a Day Workshop, is suitable for beginners and novices as well as those who already have some experience with web development. It is a hands on, interactive training and guides you through a step by step process to create a personal or business website of your own, you will create your own website in a single day! Then you will have all the resources for free, Wordpress is a free structure, templates, plugins, etc. You only need to have the know how. Check this one: http://in-a-day.com.au or check also this one http://webdesigncoursesgoldcoast.com/ I hope it helps Marc 1 Quote

rcturbos Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Ya those 2 are really nice for use. Another one I really like to use when picking colors i use the following site: http://html-color-codes.info/ I just like it because ti shows all the colors you can choose from. Quote
Sherlock Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks for sharing these useful sites! I'm off to try them out. Quote
Hardison Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks for the great resource. I also like the business concept. It seems like a great business niche. It appeals to the DIY business owners. I picked up some interesting ideas. Quote
antwanmon Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 i think it is easiest to design in photoshop, slice, and then convert to html. It allows you to make beautiful websites and gives you control over every aspect of the design. Photoshop can take a while to learn, but once you have got it down, you will make killer websites in no time. I think online resources often limit your ability to be creative and nitpicky, which is what makes great web design. Nathan 1 Quote

ridwan sameer Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 It;s really hard Nathan. You first need to learn Graphics design, to design it in Photoshop. And then be a guru in HTML/CSS to code it. There are alot of services that do it for you online, Search for "PSD TO HTML" And if your looking to do it yourself, search for "PSD to HTML tutorials" They are a dime a dozen Quote
Victor Leigh Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 All this while, I have been using Wordpress for my sites. I will go and have a look to see if I can produce anything better with those links. I mean better in less time. If it's going to take me a long time, then I am sticking to Wordpress. Quote

YOu can use these sites to create wordpress themes however so that you can have a site the way you want and still have posting functionality and what not Quote
Marc Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Topic moved to website development & design as the other section is for Developerbase developed tools Quote
ComputerHelp808.com Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 With Wordpress becoming so popular I've actually had to talk people out of Dreamweaver lessons. Never used it myself I was always too cheap. I do use Komposer which is a very nice wysiwyg editor that DOES NOT mess with my other code like OpenOffice does. I wrote a program to remove spaces in my html code so I could place it in my wp sites without having to delete a bunch of spaces. You folks can have it if you want it. That's about it. The tools in wp are good. It's really which plugins to use that becomes a big discussion issue. Rick Quote
Marc Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I have also used Wordpress like a few others for creating sites. I think its just a simple tool to use for creating a website in a small amount of time, and that goes for whether your a beginner or advanced. Nathan. I have tried the photoshop route before. You need to learn how to use photoshop properly before even thinking about creating a website with it. After which you need to become fairly good with CSS IMO to make it stick. Quote

Attach that on here somewhere if you would Quote
perian12 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Personally I prefer Illustrator to Fireworks. Fireworks’ typography abilities are rather pathetic. What I would much rather see from the app is the ability to style elements the same way I would those very elements with CSS. That would be MUCH more useful to me and that way I’d have all the features I could honestly really need. However it doesn’t do this and as such I find Photoshop and Illustrator to be much more useful. Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Yeah mate that Space Remover for wordpress would be awesome.. I've always noticed the extensive Space in the wordpress blogs Quote
bryce12 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I use Wordpress for most of my sites and use NVU if I have to design a static website. Since I moved to Wordpress, I rarely code my site from ground up and maintain several templates to help me create my sites faster. I love how WP allows you to tweak almost every aspect of your site. John Aeliya Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Just like in most other professions, a web designer’s set of tools is what brings a concept into fruition. There are many applications available to our disposal, but there are some that just stand out from the crowd. Following are the most popular tools used for web design. 1. Fireworks 2. Dreamweaver 3. Panic Coda 4. Photoshop 5. Firefox developer Quote
