Administrators Nathan Posted May 7, 2012 Administrators Share Posted May 7, 2012 Has anyone ever heard of or used this? Very Cool Idea: Folding @ Home Folding@home is a distributed computing project designed to perform simulations of protein folding and other molecular dynamics Basically you install on your computer and it's uses part of you processing power to solve math problems and send back the data. I setup a group for us in case any of you would like to help. Just when you install put in DeveloperBase's team # 218493 You can track out statistics here: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=218493
Fallace
I actually have used this on my computer before, it's a great project and if everyone contributed, it'd be good for the science. As a biochemist, it's pretty interesting to me after all.
CHiLL
I've used it a few times over the years, but I always forget to install it again after a format or new computer build. It's definately a good idea though.
