Jessi Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I have seen this 1usd thing used successfully on another forum. What they offered for the 1usd was enhanced points for posts. And they have put up a hefty cash prize for the most points accumulated in one month. So for the members, paying that 1usd is simply an investment to make more points to get the cash prize. I can see how that would work out great on a "post for points" style forum. I don't think it would translate very well at all to any other style of forum because there wouldn't be much gain, but I do like the idea. Quote
dexterlablab1 Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I'm normally not a big fan of donating to sites nor am I a fan of asking for donations. BUT, if this was a site a TRULY loved, I wouldn't turn them down from me sharing a bit of $$$ with them. Quote

MustangV10 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 One of the biggest forums (Hack Forums) charges $18 for L33T, for life. That says a lot. Quote

Do you like monthly, yearly or lifetime? Or how about how much would you be willing to pay to get the shiney title on a forum? Hmmm. What are the perks of this types of membership? You should really choose what is beneficial to you. But if you have the money then, go for the premium. Premium is the perfect choice for me mainly because of its privileges. Quote
Jelineex Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I haven't tried registering any site for membership especially with fees. This is mostly a scam and I take myself apart from that. Although, there are site that are legitimate but it is always good to be safe. As much as possible try to run a site that is free of charge. People preferred it. This will avoid hassle and attract audience. Even, if you have the purest intention when it comes to money people doesn't trust easily. Unless, it is worthy and useful to a person. Quote
Kaushik Posted December 9, 2018 Posted December 9, 2018 I mostly subscribe to forums and website which offer free service. But I find chess.com's premier membership worth the money. They provide in depth analysis of every game, unlimited video lessons, unlimited tournaments to play and puzzles every day. It is worth spending the money for it. Quote
Bravosi Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 I'd say yearly or lifetime. I hate paying for something every month, makes me feel bound to it... Quote
Alania Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 I personally wouldn't mind paying every month, as long as it's automatic of course. I simply can forget to do so, haha. Quote
