sound
just bought and a bit concerned about the actual structure of this application as appears to involve uploading modded core files and doesn't appear to be a "standard" invision mod type which then makes me wonder about the actual integration etc with invision is it more a stand alone app with membership integration ? apoligies if have got the wrong end of the stick but am a bit wary of testing given the install instructions if you could just give a few words on the structure etc it be appreciated thanks Edited May 23, 2012 by sound
Administrators Nathan Posted May 23, 2012 Administrators Share Posted May 23, 2012 Hey no problem at all, I actually just received a PM about my submission to the IPB Marketplace from one of the mods a few minutes ago. No, I'm afraid we're not going to be able to accept this in its current form. You're also including edited IP.Board source files from the /admin/applications/forums/ directory. What you need to do to create a modification like you're attempting to create is to create it as a new IP.Board application. I'd advise you to read through this, especially looking over the parts regarding application creation. If there are parts of IP.Board that would need changed (which I'm assuming is the case with this app as you've edited these IP.Board files), then you'd want to look into the Hooks system to see how you can change those. Having an application will also let you work with skin files properly, by having them built during the installation process. Looks like the next release will need to be coded differently before it will be allowed on the IPB Marketplace. My devs and I are currently looking into the link they provided on how to make it conform more with the way other IP.Board modifications are created before I will have a ETA on the rewritten code. Let me know if you would like a refund and wait until the rewritten version is released as I'm happy to do so Otherwise feel free to use the current code and all upgrades are free. Of course I would always install on a test site before your live site like any other application.
Wiley
I imagine the time needed to re-code will be lengthy. Weighing the options of going forward as it is or waiting for the IPB compliant version? I tend to tweak new software out quickly and in detail. Would hope a compliant version wouldn't effect the tweaks and changes I made to the outward appearance. rcturbos
Ya when I talked to my friend that is acutally helping recode it he said it's going to be a long work in progress.. He said probably 3 months or more.

Administrators Nathan Posted June 14, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 14, 2012 Great, good luck with the fix .... Yeah it was quite the learning curve as I have not created an actual "Mod/App" for IP.Board. Since it was somewhat standalone they didn't accept it. Very close now, in testing stages now and hoping to release tomorrow, will keep you updated. Thanks for hanging in there Wiley
Wiley
Any updates? Thanks!
Administrators Nathan Posted June 29, 2012 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2012 Still had another issue to fix to be compliant with IP.Board not only with creating a mod, but database calls can not be done in normal PHP have to use the IP.Board defaults. Learning these right now so I get this converted.
