Thomas Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I've been searching for an anonymous posting mod for vBulletin 4.2.0 All I require is a small check box and if it is selected then it is posted as the 'Anonymous' user. Any ideas? Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 30, 2012 Administrators Posted May 30, 2012 Hmm...you mean guest posting? Why not just allow guest posting on your forums? Quote
Thomas Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Not guest posting. Users allowed to post 'anonymously'. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 30, 2012 Administrators Posted May 30, 2012 Ah, sorry, didn't get that at first. I don't see any mod for that after searching some. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 30, 2012 Administrators Posted May 30, 2012 Here is an older version for 3.x wonder if they updated it for 4.x? http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=177694 Quote
Thomas Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 That is the one I have linked to in my request. Will see if anything bites back. Quote
LosAngelesLover Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hmm, users could just sign out to post an Anonymous post, or does it literately have to be a Anonymous post by a user for administration or other purposes? Quote
Thomas Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 After posting this request I have received people telling me they have a working model. Yay! Nathan 1 Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 31, 2012 Administrators Posted May 31, 2012 If you get a copy may want to attach here for others. Quote
Thomas Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Since I had to buy a copy I don't know if I'm allowed. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted May 31, 2012 Administrators Posted May 31, 2012 Ah ok, could lock it up in the premium member section? Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 So does it work as it's supposed to? Why would you want such a feature though, wouldnt it be able to cause spam? Quote
tetutato Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 So does it work as it's supposed to? Why would you want such a feature though, wouldnt it be able to cause spam? I agree and if posted anonymous, will mods not be able to see who it was really posted by? Quote
Victor Leigh Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Same question came into my mind. What is the purpose of allowing members to post anonymously? I have seen one or two forums which allow that because they have a section for members to ask for help on very sensitive personal matters. Is that what you want to use it for? Quote
Marc Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Ah ok, could lock it up in the premium member section? Wouldnt advise it Nathan. Can get your account removed from both vbulletin.com and .org for that. I know I certainly wouldnt do it. Quote
