Sherlock
Protecting your admin panel password and FTP account password is a matter of creating letter and number combinations that are not easy to guess. I always try to use the most difficult password possible. A secure password is at least 8 characters long and includes a mixture of letters, numbers, and special characters like punctuation. The more complex and obscure your password, the tougher it is for hackers to crack. Have you guys ever had your passwords hacked?
LosAngelesLover
Nope, I usually encrypt data like passwords, as well as very long passwords - not even my mother could guess them. it's just a matter of security, I have had a few attempts of hacking into my admin panel before. I return the favour to their IP addresses.

SpikeTheLobster
Exactly, just use something completely random and long, the odds of getting 15 letter password is extremely unlikely. Actually, I remember seeing an analysis done by a mathematician or phycisist or someone that showed the opposite. You're better off with something like two normal words stuck together than you are with a mish-mash of almost random letters and numbers. I know it sounds dumb but it's one of those oddities of probability or something. Obviously the "common words" approach isn't so secure against script monkeys but it's much tougher for modern algorithms to break because they no longer assume you'll use common words. Or something. Whatever. My "unbreakable" password is actually the license number from a computer game from about 20 years ago. It stuck in my head and never left. Victor Leigh
No password is secure forever. Therefore it is always a good policy to change your password every now and then. Of course, all the other guidelines apply. Don't use the same password as your username, for example. There's one other thing. Don't use a password so complicated that you can't even remember it yourself.

I hate it when places force me to use numbers and special signals and whatnot.... I always forget it then
