tetutato Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Adsense blocked me off for some reason (I don't know what's wrong with my site, I see similar gaming forums having adsense and I don't buy paid traffic/clicks) so I'm looking for an alternative that can provide media-rich banners with good CPC ratio. Any suggestions? Quote

tetutato Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Adbrite: http://www.adbrite.com/mb/ Hmm, I've never heard of them. How are their pay and do you know any sites that actually use them? Quote
antwanmon Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Adbrite is actually quite nice, I would say they are the next best after Adsense. I like them because they have a variety of ad types, some which might convert better for you. Also, I recommend Chitika, as they are also pretty nice. I have not had much experience with Chitika, but I do know a few people who have had success with it. Chitika is search based, so it displays ads that are relevant to a user's search history. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted June 2, 2012 Administrators Posted June 2, 2012 I've heard adbrite is the 2nd highest paying next to adsense, but I'm not sure exactly of how the payout works I guess it would depend on the keywords. Quote
tetutato Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Ok thanks for the suggestion guys, I'll be giving adbrite a try then if I can find a plugin for it. Quote
tetutato Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 Update: Adbrite doesn't seem to offer just media-rich banner advertisements. You can only pick media-rich and text or just text. :/ Anyone know how to get around this? Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Bidvertiser Served me well in the Past Im not sure how media rich they are though, just saying what I tried Quote

dexterlablab1 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 (edited) I can vouch for Adbrite. They're legit and good. And potentially, they can pay MORE than Adsense assuming you know how to tweak your ad settings. But they don't have any electronic payment method. They still do it the old fashioned way, check by mail. But they are legit But as you saw, they don't ONLY have CPC. They have CPM too. But if you want, you can block out the CPM ads. It's all about how you tweak it to fit your needs. Edited June 5, 2012 by dexterlablab1 Quote
tetutato Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Hmm in what case will using CPM be better than using CPC ads? Quote
dexterlablab1 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Hmm in what case will using CPM be better than using CPC ads? I would do this based on situation. Ok, first of all, only you KNOW your audience. So only you'd know if they're the types to actually click on an ad or not. If they aren't normally "ad friendly" I'd go with CPM. That way you'd still get paid regardless. Not as much obviously, but something is better than nothing. If you're audience is more on the click and curious side, go with CPC. But you can have it set to actually mix and match between both if you set it to auto accept ads. Quote
tetutato Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 Hmm if I have about 10000 monthly traffic, how much would that get me with CPM ads? Quote

Victor Leigh Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Have you tried Amazon? They have a lot of products related to games and gaming. Lots of nice images, too. Plus you can pick and choose what you want to promote. Of course, you can just take the easy way out and set it to auto. Quote
SpikeTheLobster Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 There's also Clicksor, who do media-rich, pop-under, in-text and interstitial (all of which you can switch on or off). They don't seem to care who hosts their ads and they've been around for ages. No idea how the rates compare but I use them on my non-AdSense sites because they're so easy to work with. Quote

I was just about to mention this. And yes, the advertiser neglect is real with clicksor. I've had to stop using them because people were complaining about viruses ever since I started using them. And when I took Clicksor off and went to Chitika, the complaints stoped Quote

I thought with Amazon there's only those affiliate banners that you need to get leads/sales on. Quote

I've had to stop using them because people were complaining about viruses ever since I started using them. And when I took Clicksor off and went to Chitika, the complaints stoped I've had no complaints but then I don't get a lot of traffic yet. I did see a VERY adult ad pop up on one of my sites which shouldn't have any adult ads - reported it and they chase it up and so on. What are Chitika's acceptance criteria like? And don't they just do those in-line ads that I hate or do they do banner stuff now? Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 What does Chitika Pay like? They're not all that famous, Do they have the same rates as adsense or higher? Quote
Victor Leigh Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Do they have CPC/CPM ads? I thought with Amazon there's only those affiliate banners that you need to get leads/sales on. I haven't seen any option for that kind of ads on Amazon yet. I know that the OP is looking for that kind of ads. I am just suggesting Amazon as an alternative monetization method. After all his aim to make money from his site, isn't it? Quote

And even though they're rates are close to adsense, they are much more free as if they were adbrite. What I mean by that is they aren't anywhere near as strict and they have both CPC and CPM banners. So to answer you question, yup they have banners for you now. And you don't have to wait to get to at least $100 like you do adsense. If you have a Paypal account, you can be paid as you reach the $10 threshold. For those that don't have Paypal, you can do snail mail once you hit $50. Quote

Well yea, I do know about their monetization method but I don't feel like they work too well. Thanks for the suggestion though. Quote
