Administrators Nathan Posted June 11, 2012 Administrators Posted June 11, 2012 I'm liking #3, 4, & 8. Can't stand the fact that they are dumping Google Maps though. http://gizmodo.com/5917359/ios-6-new-features-coming-soon-to-your-iphone-and-ipad Quote
Thomas Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I am very happy to hear about these updates. I love my iPhone and I won't be chaining to another phone without a very good reason however in the last couple of weeks it does feel a bit old and clanky. I am just hoping that the new iPhone 5 comes out soon enough for my contract update! Quote

CHiLL Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Looks like a good bunch of updates. Looking at the maps, they look like more than just maps, but also a satnav too, which is more than what Google Maps can do. Quote
Thomas Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Currently I have the iPhone 4 with a very broken back. I have actually used my iPhone as a satnav before and although it works well the biggest feature missing was it telling you the directions. Without that sound a satnav is useless. Quote

Yeah, and it looks like Apple have finally addressed that, and why they've dropped Google Maps. Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 And All this time.. My Outdated Galaxy S has had almost all those features. Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted June 12, 2012 Author Administrators Posted June 12, 2012 Yeah, and it looks like Apple have finally addressed that, and why they've dropped Google Maps. As long as it works well I'm fine with it, but I can't imagine it will be as smooth and complete as Google Maps. Google has years of experience and jump start on them, why change it now to a less product? Quote

Apparently they teamed up with TomTom for the replacement of Google Maps, so I can't see it being too bad to be honest. Quote
S.O. Price Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 When I first heard that they were dropping Google Maps, I thought "ouch, that's gotta hurt (google)". I bet Google feels like they just got punched in the gut. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in the next few years. Will it mean that others will jump on board and provide more competition? Will Google accept the challenge and really get their game on? hhmm....Stay posted. Quote
Marc Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I ditched my iphone after the 3gs. Seems to me like apple are falling behind in the smartphone market and all they are doing nowadays is catching up. They will never manage it though considering the amount they would have to open up to do so. Something we all know that will never happen. Quote
JHTech100 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 All I care about is Siri on my new iPad. Everything else is a bonus. 'nuff said. Quote
