tetutato Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Hmm I miss the monkey ninja >.< Or is it still there? I don't see it :/ Quote
Victor Leigh Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 I like the navy blue background. It's more in keeping with the ninja theme. The sky blue background makes me think that your ninja has taken up scuba diving. Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Yeah but there is no ninja anymore, and i think the Sky blue goes better with the white of teh background.. That is if your planning on keeping it white Quote
__Darknite Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Some updates: I presented the two themes over at another community and the feedback was also for Navy. Another week of hacking and here are some more updates: The footer now has some social media icons, windows 8 style: Footer: I've done some optimisations Speed Grade (Google and Yahoo): Finally a break down of the network transfer, only 7 http calls, site loads and renders in 410 milliseconds (In the UK) in for the US its about 1300 milliseconds Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted June 24, 2012 Administrators Posted June 24, 2012 What tool did you use to show you those stats? Quote

tetutato Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Those are nice stats but it's not based on your theme entirely. I mean his/her host plays a lot of part in the rating as well. Quote

You are correct, the host network speed indeed is a variable outside my scope, and does effect the grades somewhat. However comparing apples to apples, the current theme (free theme) has well over 40 http requests, and around 2800 milliseconds or more for page load. To say its an improvement would be a slight understatement Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted June 25, 2012 Administrators Posted June 25, 2012 Huh, that's strange, so when I run DeveloperBase through it gets a horrible grade, but I've never had issues with site slowness, in fact everything loads for me in less than a second. Quote

To say its an improvement would be a slight understatement I guess that's a good point if the grade's significantly better than another theme. Well congratulations! Yea my sites don't get that great of a grade as well. But some of the grade factors are really easy to fix. Just read what's needed and you'll see. __Darknite 1 Quote
