Ram8349
When I visit a web site, the following types of ads are quite annoying to me. 1. Flash ads. It just keep flashing flashing right in my face. 2. Full page ads. If I want to go to the next page, I want to do it in one click, not 2 or 3 just to by pass the ads. 3. pop up ads. I dislike stuff pop up without asking. Often if you are not careful when try to close it, you might click on it by accident. Sometimes worse, it's a full page pop up ads...it's the combination of full page ad and pop up ad. If you are not careful, you can close the wrong stuff. 4. Automatic played video ads. I don't want some random video suddenly start playing and scare me with high volume without permission. If I want to watch a video, I would click on it myself. Other than the above, if the banner and text ads are all over the place, they can be annoying too. I am fine with them as long as they aren't overdone. What ads annoy you? Nathan

bryce12
I hate automated video ads. For some reason, they annoy me like anything. Consider you are doing some serious work or research and suddenly a video starts playing telling you how to lose 40 pounds in 4 weeks. All your focus and concentration is gone, it's such a waste of time.
LiquiLayer - Brent
Same here. Especially in the internet marketing world, the pop up ads are ridiculous. As soon as an ad comes "sliding" down the page from the top telling me to enter my email, I immediately close the site.
tetutato
Pop ups and those full page ads.. Pop ups are the worst though imo.
Jessi
Pretty much any and/or all of the above. I don't mind the occasional ad in a sidebar really, but especially ones that come with audio are a huge turnoff. I run adblockers that keep me from even seeing most things, so it takes something really in my face to even get my attention. And if it's that far out there? Yeah, I'm going to leave. Marc
Automatic video I find the most annoying above all else. Next to that it has to be popups. I dont mind popunder as although annoying I can always close them afterwards, I just dont like things in my face.
DarkGizmo
Flash ads are annoying and give me a headache. Pop-up ads are just a huge pointless annoyance. If you're gonna slap pop-up ads in my face, I'm not going to click them just to spite the webmaster who owns the site. Forcing ads down your viewers throat isn't the way to go about generating revenue to your site. I absolutely HATE pop-up ads and when they aren't blocked, I get very annoyed and 9 out of 10 times, I won't return to that site at all much less click an ad to help out a webmaster. Hardison
I really don't like: 1--Auto play videos with high volume. 2--Flash into with no skip link 3--Multiple exit pop-ups. I don't really mind on pop-up ad, but I really get annoyed with the "are you sure?" and "are you really sure?" 4--Websites that don't move when I hit the back button. JHTech100
Popups, videos, flashy ones, full page ads, survey ads, ads that precede the bulk of content. The above discourage my use of a site if not applied in moderation. Popups make me totally leave a site most of the time. Full page ads just really annoy me. Flashy ones make me leave often. dexterlablab1
I get the most annoyed with intermission ads. At least with pop ups and flash you can block them totally. But with intermissions, even if you block the ad, the screen still comes up and you have to wait for a few seconds to move on. I very, very rarely even happen across a site that has those, but when I do, I make it a point to not return. I understand needing ads, but I don't appreciate having it forced in my face either. Rayru18
I can handle regular ads on the sidebars, banners, etc. but honestly those with sound (like the ones offering the emoticons with the annoying "hello") irritate me and I have to mute or just leave the site. The ones that really just make me close the browser and blacklist the page are those Scrolling Ads, as you go down they go with you and sometimes they just get on top of things when you are trying to read the website or look for something, this type of ad has made me stop going to multiple websites. They expect you to have the window maximized in order for the ads to not disturb and almost 95% of the time I'm doing multiple things so I can't really maximize the window, it's just annoying and a pain. Also auto play videos, as mentioned before, specially those with no mute and/or pause button, and the intermission ads, they just don't help you and are invasive. Ads are needed and that's all good, but don't make them invasive, people don't learn invasive ads just reduce traffic.

Ditzy
There are also another kind of ads that I am annoyed by heavily. The ones that lie. With attractive games that seem that it's just a tiny flash app on a website, but when you click them, you are instantly redirected to some website that promises you an iPhone if you type in your mobile phone number. Which is pretty bad if you, since in their terms and conditions (in very small letters at the bottom), it says that they will charge you a certain amount usually per month. Also, I find all the ones listed here very annoying too in my browsing sessions.
Geonarlie
Ads don't bother me to much. I used to hate them when I was younger and played a game called RuneScape. I had such a bad computer that the ads would lag the game as I played. Then I found out about ad block and when I used it the game actually went faster. I was surprised that the ads could slow a browser game down so much. I don't use ad block anymore because ads help website owners aquire a little cash. I was just a kid back then and didn't exactly know what ads were for.
dexterlablab1
Haha, I know how to, I leave the site. Don't care how helpful or much I like it I will leave the site. lol ok yeah there IS that. But eventually I expect someone to put up some sort of method to get around it.
xbrix
The ads that I don't like are ads the flash, pop up, and look like they are apart of the webpage.
XxMotleyCrueXx
ALL ads's annoy me in general! I absolutely HATE them! they are so annoying and upsetting! also on certain webpages I swear ad's slow websites down. I also hate if I am reading a article online and this huge ad pops up covering the article so I cant read it. Grrrrr.... I also despise the ad's that pop up asking you if your sure you want to leave a page, its like YES I AM SURE. Wonder if ad block really helps in removing all ads?,
OhioTom76
I cannot stand the pop-over windows - you know, the ones that grey out the rest of the page and ask you to sign up for something. It seems that almost *every* freaking site has them these days. Didn't these people learn over the past 20 years that people hate pop-ups?! It got so bad the first time around that even the browser makers themselves had to include built in pop up blockers, now they are doing it all over again. I hate background image ads too, the ones where its a giant ad in the background of the web page, and the whole area is clickable. Thankfully these seem to have died off in recent years. Another one I can't stand are fake Flash Updates, nagging me that my Flash plugin is out of date and needs updated. Or some crap about how my video codecs are out of date. Give me a break.
