Favorite Brand Processor

Recommended Posts

What is your favorite brand processor, from computing to graphics? My favorite brands are both Intel and Nvidia. Intel processors are just great. I have better experience with them compared to AMD! I also like Nvidia because their graphics are just powerful. I have an Intel graphics card and I have to say that it is much weaker than Nvidia. What are your thoughts?

Back in around 2004 it was AMD all the way regarding single core processors. But now I'd go for Intel, which I have for my last two complete builds.

Back in around 2004, it was all AMD. I'd have never considered an Intel. AMD just dominated the single core processor range. However come dual core or above, Intel have just ran away with the market and left AMD in the dust performance wise. However with Intel, you pay for the performance, which has really left AMD with one market area, being the low/budget end, where their range offers more 'bang for buck'. Meaning their processors for £60 perform better than Intel's £60 offering. But as soon as you come out of the budget range, Intel run away with performance.

My first desktop processor was AMD. It was okay and It does the job. But Intel is way better than AMD. Intel processors are smart and powerful. I will definitely build an Intel rig in the near future. Intel all the way.

Not necessarily the case. Intel can't compete against AMD's budget processors in the same way AMD can't compete with Intel's high performance processors. Things change, back in the early 2000s, AMD were the performance processors to have.

I started with Intel. Still with Intel. Actually I had thought of using an AMD for my next gaming pc. However I will have to see what's available when the time comes.

Would look at some of the benchmarking between the 2 first m8. I considered the same and after looking around decided against it

Intel. I've used both Intel and AMD. While I've never had any problems with AMD, I have noticed that Intel seems to innovate more often and lead the processor war, while AMD follows. I am glad that they both exist though. A monopoly would be bad for us, the consumer.

Intel. Have had AMD for years and noticed the difference massively when I switched. Dont think I would ever go back now.

I agree. Had an AMD before and I notice that it overheats a lot. I asked around, and they said it has that reputation. By the way, this was years ago, and maybe it's not the case today.

Having used Intel and AMD both, I would pick Intel. I started off with Intel Pentium 4 and the journey has been great. Right now, I am using intel core i5 3.2GHz on my laptop and it is really good. I never had any kind of performance issues and it is going on smoothly. It has a decent cache memory so the speed is amazing.
