In this screenshot, I search for a file named "CountVowels". It is a program I made a few months ago. With Everything program, I don't have to search my file manually. I just run Everything and input the file name and results will be delivered in just seconds. So, there you go. File searching made easy.

That would be useful on Windows XP or earlier, but Windows Vista and 7 has it's own built-in indexing feature which does just that.

So why would you use this vs using the built in Windows search? Windows search already has an index on everything as well.

Not nessesarily. Windows will only index certain locations unless you tell it to do otherwise. Usually programfiles, your user folder, and anything attached to a library by default if I remember rightly.

Windows Search is not enough. Its not that powerful. Try to install 'Everything' and compare the results with Windows Search. You'll be surprised by the results. :)

Alright, I'll give it a try. Work with Windows 7 64-bit?

Windows Search is more than enough for the average user. The Start Menu items and user area are the most commonly used places. However if you want to search your entire system, then this is probably better. But if it works like Windows Indexing (where is scans the system and keeps tabs of where files are) then it may slow systems down.
