ridwan sameer Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 http://mashable.com/2012/06/08/nintendos-wii-u-review/ According to this, The Wii U is undoubtedly a cool gadget... But maybe just for casual gaming. Nothing to replace the big boys like teh PS3 and XBOX... But it seems like a good console for some family fun... And some Co Op gameplay. Your opinions ? Quote
JHTech100 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 The Wii has always been the casual family console. It's neat, but the Wii U is basically Wii + DS, and then rounded corners. Quote
ridwan sameer Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 I think its more powerful than a Wii and a DS though, the graphics are better now. Plus a bit more powerful, But i Think Nintendo is gearing itself twoards casual gamers otherwise they would've checked themselves by now Quote
Marc Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I dont get it tbh. So you can see the same on the pad as you can on the screen? If so whats the point in having it hooked to the TV? Quote

You don't see anything on the controller screen while you're playing on the TV screen. If, for whatever reason, you had to let someone else use the TV, you could switch to using the screen on the controller, so the other person could do what they wanted. Anyway, being a Nintendo fan since I was a little kid I'm probably gonna end up getting a Wii U. It'll serve as a good replacement for my barely-working Wii, too. Have you seen the DS? It has a top and bottom screen.. The bottom one has some extra functions, and is mainly the controller. In this case however.. It can be used like that.. Or you can switch off the TV (or let someone else watch) while you play on the tablet Quote
shinastray Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I have almost no hope left for the Nintendo consoles. I've felt the actual quality of the console has dropped starting with the GameCube, and while the Wii had some pretty amazing sales, as a gamer I can't help but feel disappointed by it. I'd really like if Nintendo made up their damn minds whether they want to focus on the gamer market or the casual player market and roll with it. As someone who has and enjoys an NES even today, I feel saddened by seeing Nintendo pending to the latter. Quote
