ridwan sameer
Im not sure if many of your'll saw that video of that poor bus monitor being bullied for her "weight" by the school students in the bus. But it was really sad to see. But you'll be glad to know that around 600,000$ has been raised for her "Vacation fee" But i think it could power her retirement. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/23/nyregion/for-bullied-bus-monitor-funds-raised-to-take-hurt-away.html

I know right But that video got around 15 million views... even if half of them donated a dollar they could make up that money
Marc
Genius IMO. If people are willing to pay it, its their choice
MasterProX
http://www.indiegogo.com/loveforkarenhklein Whoa. So far, they've raised almost $630,000 (at the time of this post). And with about 30,000 funders... that's somewhere around $20 or $21 donated per person so far.
Victor Leigh
A bad thought just popped into my mind. How do we know that all the money which has been donated actually did go into that fund? Is there some kind of mechanism to prevent fraud? With that amount of money, I can safely assume that many people would be tempted to get a piece of the pie, so to say. Very true, but the Campaign is overlooked by her daughter, so you can assume it all goes to her. You know something better? The person who started the campaign? There's another campaign started to thank him for it and they've raised 4000$ +
dexterlablab1
it's ridiculous how some of these kids act a fool. And then the parents will be the first ones whining about "not my child, he/she would never do that".
JHTech100
It's really sad that the students made that choice to bully her. Wow, though, she's getting over $675,000?! That's definitely well over the $5000 goal... I think she can just about retire at this rate.
Jessi
I wonder what she's going to do with the money. It obviously went viral and the money raised is much, much higher than anyone ever imagined. I have a feeling we'll see some of it get donated to charity somewhere.
Hardison
Disneyland offered her a free vacation and Southwest Airlines is covering the airfare for the family. She has mentioned that she has no plans to retire as a bus monitor. She is going to be using the money to pay off some bills and donate some money for Down Syndrome and autism research. Victor Leigh
I have just thought of something. If it hadn't been for those kids bullying her, she wouldn't be getting all this money, right? I am not saying that she should thank them but, maybe it might be good if she would use some of that money to set up an education fund for those kids. It might just give them the right motivation to turn over a new leaf.

Victor Leigh
Hmm...this just seems like a reward for them. I would say no. On second thoughts, scrap the idea. It might just encourage other kids to bully more elderly citizens. What a calamity!
Thomas
Watching the video is just horrible, Do kids not get bought up with manors?

Screw that lol Those kids intentionally tried to make her life miserable and she's suppossed to shell out HER money in THEIR behalf? Let their parents put the money out for that kind of thing.
