Hi guys, I'm currently the owner of a 13 inch macbook from late 2008, early 2009. I believe it's generation 6. The aluminum unibody one. It's NOT a Pro model, but a regular macbook and it's more or less maxed out....I paid about $2k for it back in April of 2009. It's starting to show it's age....here is the specs:

320GB HDD 5400

2.4ghz intel core 2 duo

4GB DDR3 Memory

I also have an HP touchsmart all-in-one desktop running Windows 7 64-bit with the following specs:

2.8ghz AMD Athlon X2 II processor

4GB DDR3 memory

500GB HDD (not sure about the speed)

both aren't the greatest at playing games......so I would like a laptop that would be able to handle newer computer games with no problem. I can't run Diablo 3 on either machine.....

I can't upgrade the memory any higher nor put in a faster processor. So I'm thinking soon i'll be shopping for a new computer. My question is, should I go for a macbook pro? or should I get something from HP"s high performance line? I feel like if I go with HP I'll be getting more for my buck.....my problem is I have adobe web premium suite for OSX and not Windows so if I go with another brand other then apple I'll have to purchase that again......What would you guys do?

Does it need to be a laptop to play games? I only ask because they're much more expensive in comparison to desktops.

What a huge rip off. I have bought much better hardware than this back in 2007 or 2008 and it cost me like $600. I bought the hardware and put them together into a PC myself. It took me no more than 20 minutes.

If your main goal is to play video games, then you should get a desktop PC. You can build a budget but decent PC several times better what you have now for under $500 given that you already have a monitor. Laptops are not good for gaming. I have a laptop with dedicated video card, but it's just suck compare to much cheaper desktop.
