Administrators Nathan Posted July 12, 2012 Administrators Posted July 12, 2012 If you like useless gadgets, then this is for you. Useless Box Quote
Rayru18 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 So I think this is what Schrodinger was actually trying to do with his cat, but failed to get the expected results because he sealed the box. In all honesty this should be called mechanical cat box, lol. I don't know why but I found it funny, and gave me a great fear of ever having one in my hands, this could very well be the new reason for procrastination in this world...as if we didn't have any others, lol. Victor Leigh Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Reminds me of the pet rock craze so many years ago. I think the pet rock was even better than this box because it was even more useless and costs just about nothing to make. Does anyone remember any of these? Quote

Victor Leigh Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Pet Rocks was a fad in the 70s started by an advertising executive named Gary Dahl, who marketed it as the perfect pet that you didn't have to feed or take for walks. More information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_Rock He sold 1.5 million Pet Rocks and became a millionaire. This is the latest version: Quote

Victor Leigh Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Just goes to show how just a little bit of creativity and some marketing savvy can make a lot of money. Remember the hula hoop? Very simple thing, isn't it? It's very often the simple things that make the most money. Quote
Agent_Nycto Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Ever hear of chindogu? It's what the Japanese call stuff similar to this. The idea is that you make things that seem useful, but are actually highly impractical. An example is a toilet paper roll strapped to a helmet, so you always have access to tissues during hay fever season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chind%C5%8Dgu Quote
