GregH
Hey Hey, I have a few domains that I had purchased with the plan on creating content for them in the future. I haven't been able to do this as of yet. And was considering what you think would be a good idea to do with these domains while they're sitting there waiting for me? Any way to use them just to generate some traffic or a little income?
Jessi
Yep! Who is your host? Personally, I parked a few of mine through GoDaddy so they had the potential for ad revenue while I wasn't actually using them.

Or perhaps turn them into your own forum. I must add that making money is no easy task, you must put a sufficient effort to generate real income online. It's not impossible, but it's not easy either..
bigbigfan
I take the time to create a placeholder page with some interesting text and a hint of what is to come. It starts the search engines knowing what they might expect from the domain and you may pick up some occasional visits and/or backlinks. Parking the domain can also put some coin in your pocket but my experience is that the income from a parked newly registered domain is not much to write home about. Great idea I was about to suggest the same thing!
Nymph
Over the years, I have come to find that parking your domain is not necessarily the most useful thing you could do with a site that is just sitting around -- not unless the domain in question is highly coveted and gets many natural hits per day. Even then, it is much more useful to write even a single blog post, article, or whatnot, and attempt to add some streamlined means of acquiring revenue through it. You can expand on it or change the theme in the future...But content is king, as they say.
Bravosi
You could give these domains to someone and receive a rent, hehe. You could also try to get influx of audience and receive cash from ads or etc.
foxprojects
Making money from parked domains is a bit hard, unless they already receive a fair amount of traffic. You can add a placeholder page that directs visitors to another website you own or displays ads. However, to build a website's traffic, you'll need to have some useful content to attract visitors. User must own a certain amount of popularity to do so, as in audience traffic. Usually there are cheap domains that cost $5, so it aint worth it.
