Would you pay the price tag for photoshop?

Well for people who are actually graphic designers I'd literally only go with Adobe CS6 and skip creative cloud all together. People are still using Adobe Photoshop programs from version 4 because they just work while remaining the standard.  With creative cloud I get the idea that there is a subscription with constant updates and free upgrades but why not just pay for CS6 outright and call it a day?

I just checked the price and for $3k I can do without it. I don't make enough graphics to justify that price. I usually have a friend make my graphics and her prices are reasonable and she does a great job. I could buy graphics for 100+ websites for the price of photoshop LOL.

I think that's what the demo is for so you can see and tutorial teach yourself. If all else fails yes people do get pushed to the point of just good ol' fashioned pirating.

In my personal opinion the price shouldn't be so extreme you shouldn't have to destroy your credit to create amazing works of art in Adobe.

Don't buy photoshop if you don't know a single thing about it.

If you're new to creating graphics then you should start off with a free program just like Gimp or even if your less experienced go for Paint.

And then after a month, read a guide about Photoshop and then decide if you want to spend the money and buy it.

There are always hacked versions of photoshop so I would not bother buying it. I've been using photoshop for six years and I have never paid a dime for the software. The cons are software updates are unpredictable and the software itself may crash from time to time if you did not get the good hack version.

If you have the funds to purchase it, I don't see any reason why Google for GIMP because Photoshop quality and features are superior to what you could ever get from using GIMP. So therefore, if I can afford paying the price tag on Photoshop to get a better service, I'm definitely going to pay it.

Absolutely, it has been my go-to program from the very start, and it has complete features for any job you have to do. It really rewards anyone who takes time to actually practice and make use of its features, and the price tag is definitely worth it.

If you do have the money to afford the price, then it's a good investment to buy adobe and have a legal version of it. I mean, if you make money out of graphics and stuff adobe is a good investment for you. But if not, especially if you don't know how to use it, better don't. You'll just waste your money. I guess it's better to watch tutorials first and then evaluate yourself if you can really use adobe or not. But for legal purposes and stuff, I would definitely buy Adobe even if it's expensive. Pirated versions do lag so much though, but it still depends on where you want your boat to sail. In the end, it's you who will decide after all.

It really depends on what you are going to use it for, if it's for training purposes you can always opt for a pirated copy it's super cheap and if you have friends, you can even get it for free.  If your doing an easy project like logos etc., you can use free software like Picasa, Inkscape, Gimp and Zoner.

If you are a professional graphics designer, I think Photoshop will have some advantages, especially if you work with other designers who also use Photoshop. It would be easier to work with a team or import templates or other collateral in that case. There are also many website themes and starter kits that come with files in PS format, and you'd be able to use and modify those files.

For the casual user, I think GIMP or other similar products would be better though. It's free, and the casual user doesn't necessarily need everything that comes with Photoshop and its related products.

Yes, I would invest in something like Photoshop because it satisfies my needs and I can do a lot in that program, I love it and I've been using it since High school

It only depends on the purpose. Whether it will be necessary to have it. Sometimes, there are alternative way to use as medium of substitution for designs or editing. I know Photoshop application is one great help to improve and enhance the skills in designing. It makes the work easy but there are many applications that are free. Although, it doesn't give a full features but it will contribute a good polishing technique.

That’s a big commitment for a beginner. I’d recommend seeing if someone you know has the program so you can test it out a bit before committing to buy it yourself. There are now loads of different programs out there for graphic design and you may just find that photoshop isn’t necessarily the one for you.

Even if you are just starting out and studying it would be best to purchase it if that's what you're going to stick to using. You'll be using it a lot and practicing on it, so why wait later when you can do it now and start getting better. I say it's a pretty good investment since you'll probably end up buying it anyway.

Nothing is for free. Freewares will work like a free product. Do not expect much from free softwares. Professional applications are pricy because they do the work that you want. Photoshop is a very popular software from Adobe and many people are buying the license because they are trained people and know how to utilise the application better.
