Victor Leigh Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 CJ aka Commission Junction has a lot of advertisers with a lot of products. For some time I have been trying to get a CJ account, without success. Recently I upgraded my HootSuite to Pro and, lo!, I could get a CJ account via HootSuite. Does anyone else use CJ? Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted January 7, 2013 Administrators Posted January 7, 2013 I didn't think you had to be approved for CJ? I've had several accounts there, not much success money wise though. Quote
Victor Leigh Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Sounds like they have relaxed the entry requirements then. Back when I was trying to get an account with CJ, they will vet my site first before approving my application. Since my site was small, I never got approved. Or maybe it has got to do with my location. From what I have seen of the CJ products, they would be good for niche sites. Say, for example, you have a site on erotica. Then your visitors are obviously interested in erotica. When you advertise products about erotica, there is a good chance of making a sale. Quote
ridwan sameer Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 What is CJ Exactly? I looked at their site but couldn't completely figure it out Quote
johnthomas1433 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I never tried CJ before, since I already had a couple of accounts in various other CPA websites, and didnt wish to add any more accounts. Are you saying that just because you upgraded your account, you could get in ? Quote
BarryLejieg Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I use Commission Junction sometimes but I don't see why would you use HootSuite to get an account? I have a CJ account for quite a while now and to be honest it was very easy to get accepted but I think you first have to own a website with some content in it and you'll get accepted without a problem. I only use CJ when I cannot find some particular offers in other networks, not for anything else but I am used to work with other networks. Quote
bigbigfan Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I used to run with eBay in the CJ program before eBay created their own platform. I went back to my CJ account a year later and found it closed with them claiming I owed them $40. Apparently they now charge a fee if you have no balance? And apparently they close your account if you don't use it? I haven't tried to re-apply, they aren't the only game in town and I didn't appreciate the account closure without so much as a warning. OhioTom76 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I think they are more lax these days, I created an account with them about a year ago to possibly test them out, and they didn't make me go through any vetting process. I never followed through though to attempt to promote any products, so perhaps they do that step later in the process these days. It would make more sense to, particularly if the affiliate hasn't yet decided on what they want to market yet. Quote

They also charged $10 per month penalty for having no activity/sale. I used to have around $90 balance in my CJ account several months ago but since I'm not very active in marketing CJ products the past months, I got penalized for it. I can't withdraw the remaining amount since the minimum required is $100. Quote
