Anyone remember me mentioning that I ran a website for the game Star Citizen?

Well they ran a contest and the person that referred the most people to their site and they pledge would win the grand prize of a new Alienware computer, Oculus Rift Virtual Reality, some bad ass joystick, pedals ect... and a ship in the game at release that if you purchased during crowd funding cost $1,000.

Well they just emailed me and I won!  Super excited, thought I would share!

I have just thought of a great use for that uber system. Why not put it up as a prize in an auction? That would be a fantastic auction.I think if you promote the auction fully, there should be a tremendous response.

And get rid of such an awesome system? No way!! :P

I can see maybe getting rid of some of the pieces that you won't actually end up using....whether that's in an auction or a giveaway.

No, no, Jessi, that's not getting rid of the awesome system. That's putting the system to very good use. Of course, Nathan didn't get it for free. Getting those 350 referrals must have cost him a lot of time and effort. What I am suggesting is that he ride on the momentum of his good fortune and leverage it to get even more results.

Just imagine that system being the prize of an auction here. I can just see people rushing to join this forum as soon as they hear the news. And posting like crazy to earn the virtual currency to bid for it. Nathan can even make it more attractive by announcing, just as an example, that he is willing to put that system up for auction if there are at least XXX number of members here with XXX amount of virtual currency. Of course, he will also have to put up something else for those who did not win the grand prize. Something else like virtual items which can be bought with the virtual currency.

I really like the computer specs but I would swap out the video card for a Radeon 7990 HD. I do like that I7-3820 that would be a sick processor to have. I have seen some motherboards allowing more ram than what this computer offers.
