I sold a couple of domains for a few hundred bucks and to be honest I'm quite happy about it. From my experience, domain flipping (buying and selling domains) it's a very stable way to make some extra cash online. Its very easy and friendly since you can easily buy domains and sell them in auctions.

Does anyone here use the domain flipping method as a way to earn money online?

Yes. Its most certainly a great business, considering that there are plenty of newbies in Flippa who have no idea how profitable a website is. You just have to do some keyword research, put up Wordpress, and place some content, and then just flip it!

I have flipped a few domains, and they have fetched me more than $1000 apiece.

I have not done domain flipping.  This is something I would love to do.  I think I could create some good domains since I like to write.  I would be able to come up with good content.  It would be great to hear from those who use domain flipping as a way to make income or extra income.

No, but I'm definitely interested. Where's the best place to flip a domain? I was thinking of using Go Daddy, but they charge a fee to join their reseller services. Suggestions?

You don't need to be a reseller to flip domains.  Doesn't matter where you do it.  The way to win at this is being creative and being able to predict what domains will be popular in the future.

I'm actually planning on starting the domain flipping business in the nearest future. But, I'm still waiting to get some cash as I want to buy lots of domain at a time. I'd be dealing in the long term domain flipping, that is domain that would sell ok in the long future. And also short ones that I'd probably have gotten buyers(unknown to them) for before buying, or just quickly look for after buying.

I think it's a good move to buy older domains via auction sales for less and reflip it again. But, is anyone looking into flipping domain hacks? I think I'm going to deal in that as well.

I wondered if anyone has any recommendations as to the best place to showcase a domain for sale.  I also have no idea how to price it.  Is there any good articles that you could point to that I could get a little more savvy.  It's kind of like being in grade school, totally confused and unprepared, and the teacher says "any questions?".   I am feeling like that since I am not even sure if I am asking the right questions.  Bottom line is I think I have a distinctive, marketable domain name (and a load of extensions) and am thinking flipping it may be a better idea than trying to develop the site.  Thanks in advance.

First of all, I've never done this, but I saw a lot of people who are doing this online. I would like to see more in depth data on what've you done concerning the domain flipping!?

What is your profit compared to the time you spent using this model? If there are a lot of fees and work involved and little profit to be made then it's not so wise to focus on that.

Because time that we have is much more valuable.

The best place to sell a domain name is definitely Flippa. It' a well established marketplace for buying and selling domain names.

The most important things to consider if you want to determine the price for your site is how much profit it brings and how much traffic it's getting.

Nobody wants to buy site without traffic or revenue!

The next thing that I've found about selling on Flippa is how is configured the description of the offer.

Nope, I'm still new to this whole website creating idea, but what you've said sounds really interesting, so I might give it a try to make some good money online.

I have not tried it but from what I know is that it has a lot of cash. I think it will also depend on the value of the domain or else you won't make much. What is know is that domains with .com have a lot value.

The closest thing I've ever done to any "domain flipping" was completely unintentional. I had bought up some horror movie themed domains a couple years ago, with the intention of setting up a horror movie news web site. However I never got around to it, and out of the blue, someone contacted me about buying one of the domains. They had a more established company that happened to be the same name as one of the domains that I bought, and asked if I would be willing to sell it. I don't know why they waited until now to get the domain name. Anyhow, I felt kind of slimy nickle and diming them for the domain - I only paid like $15 for it when I registered it. So I told them they could have it for the $15 and we'll call it a day.

I've certainly considered it as a way to make extra money. I'm just not that creative in predicting what domain names would be popular now or in the future. However, when I have some free time I will try. A few hundred bucks here and there would sure make a differnce in my life.

No I have not done domain flipping before in fact I had not even heard the term before. After reading this thread I really want to try domain flipping.

$1000 a piece !! That is an excellent figure to make for one domain. I am going to check out Flippa right now. Do you have any tips for some new to flippa or domain flipping ? Do you know any other sites like flippa for domain flipping  or selling WordPress website just like you did ?

No I have not done domain flipping at all which I do know about it. It is a great business in making some great extra income. I remember that some site could go as far as $2000 which depends on who is buying. I just would like to do it but I do not know where to start.

I do not do it because a domain is only worth what some one else is willing to pay for it. And I myself have never paid more than the registration fee for a domain. I always see a ton of people trying to flip domains and no one ever puts a bid on the domain.

I see I guess it was worth a shot to try. I might do it sometime when I make some money online with some other systems. I guess you have to understand how auctioning works to really make above $1000 all the time.

Exactly. Domain flipping is one of those weird topics where I personally have heard that people have done it but I've never actually known anyone who has directly. It seems to take a lot of research into not just getting the right domain but also marketing the domain back out to the public to find an actual buyer. You just can't simply have it and then hope that people want it. You have to find those people.

I haven't flipped anything yet but have some I will be. A few friends have flipped some domain names and made some good profit.
