What is your favorite kind of graphical work?

I've been doing graphics stuff (just as a hobby, but also sometimes to help out friends for a few dollars) for almost a year now, and I was wondering what kind of graphics work you guys like doing the best?

Personally I enjoy creating logos a lot. The challenge of packing as much meaning and as many messages into a single simple image is a lot of fun for me, and I find it really pushes me to my creative limits.

I got introduced to Photoshop and artwork through the Fanart community, so for now, that is what I like to do. I would like to be able to make logos etc, but I do not really have any inspiration for doing them, so for now I stick with what I know. It is still a good way to learn to master the software.

Logos are often something I will struggle with, to find the right font and coming up with a creative design overall.

I really enjoy making user interface elements - buttons, nav bars, etc... I've really been getting into all the new CSS3 effects as well, but I still do the mockups in Photoshop. There are also plugins that will help translate your Photoshop effects into CSS code.

My favorite kind of graphic work is stylized photograph logos. Taking a traditional idea and working in Illustrator to pull it all together, then choosing a color palette to make the entire design pop. The best part of it all is seeing your design on the side of company trucks and tee shirts, knowing it's just everyday advertising to most people but it's apart of your portfolio.

I really enjoy cropping things out. Like cropping a person out of a picture and put him into some other picture. I just enjoy these precise tasks and I feel like a god when I crop every single strand of hair out by its own. There's nothing more satisfying in graphical work for me than knowing I gave my best to crop something out perfectly. It's also something I do just for fun. Sometimes I go to my friends facebook pictures and crop something like a bear or a lion into the background of their pictures.

If you find enjoyment in cropping people out of pictures you should try to see if you like to get into compositing. Its a lot like that just for moving frames. You would of course work a frame at a time maybe do some rotoscoping but I find compositing to be really fulfilling, talk about feeling like a God!

I love playing with typography and I love photography. I love it when their beauty combines to send a unified message. I like doing ad design and page layout. I also love logo design because it usually gives me the freedom to push typography far more, to costumize it or draw my own. I love photography and I would say I'm pretty good at image manipulation but I don't enjoy it as much. I prefer the challange of getting most things in camera.  Like I would rather take a model out on the field than shoot in the studio and carefully extract her from the background and replace it with something.

Yeah I've done that too but for some reason I like cropping pictures better, maybe it's just because I don't spend that much time on it and compositing would take quite a bit more time. I still see the enjoyment of compositing, but I'm more entertained by cropping pictures. It calms me down when I had a hard day and want to relax a bit by concentrating on cropping that one picture perfectly. Maybe it sounds not really relaxing but for me it really helps. I always feel better after cropping. Maybe I should put some more time into compositing, because there's endless possibilities and it's actually something you can show off too. Thanks for reminding me about it, maybe I'll have some time to composite a bit in the near future.

Web layouts and advertisement banners are my favorite things to do. I'm not into business web designs though - I'm more into elegant, fancy themes that you'd usually see in a portfolio and whatnot. The same for the banners.
