How much time do you spend / day

Recommended Posts

How much time would you spend per day trying to build traffic and develop your SEO for your websites? It seems like it would be almost a full-time job just keeping up with marketing a website, building link-backs and commenting on other people's websites in order to boost traffic to your site. I am just now starting to try to build readership at my blog and am wondering what kind of time commitment I'm looking at to keep up with it all...

It's tough to do on your own, but you have to stay consistent.  I used to spend a ton more time on it here and the forum was decently busy because of it.

I would spend 1 hour per day doing link building, signature building ect....  The amount of time has to be consistent for a good period of time to get the results.

I like to write the articles for my sites myself, this way I have full control over the whole optimization (keyword density, linking to other articles etc). For backlinks, well, I mostly buy them although the ultimate solution would be to build your own blog network. The whole process takes longer at the beginning of a new website, then it gets easier with time.

The amount of time one should spend on marketing their website and leveraging SEO depends entirely on the strategies they choose to employ. You see, technically Google does not like it when you 'try' to increase your rankings through artificial means. It is something that is meant to come naturally over time and with common sense. However, there is massive weight given to the social media aspect now, and because of this, I tend to focus the majority of my efforts on sites like Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and others. Getting content to be shared across these networks is what is really crucial now. On average, I would say I spend about three or four hours per day on it, and it often does not feel like work, since my sites pertain to my passions. In fact, I do this leisurely whilst on my personal accounts, too. If you go with the flow instead of overthinking the process, it comes very easily.

Whenever I create a new website I do try my best to spend as much time as possible building links and advertising the site as much as possible. A new launch of a website can be successful 100% of the time if you know how to advertise well and you have the patience to advertise and ensure that you're placing your time in the correct places. As long as you're promoting your site and building links in the right places and you're consistent with the time you're putting into doing that, you have a massive chance of being successful.
