mrcaboom
I've heard of these words like seo, backlinks, etc, but I never understood them. It's like you know what they mean, but never really took the time to understand. So, how would i get traffic to my website. Could I also use this to get traffic to my YouTube too? LivetoErr
What kind of website do you have? Does it have a forum? SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization, is a marketing strategy that uses information on how search engines work, terms users search for, what search engines are most used, etc., to get a website a higher ranked search. Ways to optimize a site include well defined meta tags, backlinks, editing the content, etc. Backlinks, are the links which people use to get to your website. It could be via a search engine, promotional link, social media and so on. Good luck in promoting your site!
Grumpy
Buying traffic is something you should consider sparingly, in my opinion. Purely because, frequently, the quality of the traffic is poor, and it will frequently do more harm than good to your site. I'm sure that Nathan's source is quality and sustainable traffic, however, many sources won't be and many resources will overcharge you for poor quality traffic from countries that are known for botted visitors and will do nothing to help your site at all. Colebra
I think your best bet, especially when you are learning is getting traffic organically. Meaning, people would find your website through a search engine like Google... You need to select keywords that people are searching on Google and write your articles around them. Then learn how to make your website and articles easy for Google to find it... And pump a lot of content to get a good rank. It's quite a long process. Just get going and learn along the way... I totally agree with you organic traffic is the best kind of traffic for two main reason. One it is free and two the people who land your website are searching for content related to your website. But it is really hard to get a huge amount of organic traffic. Writing good articles and building content around a few keywords would really help to get more visitors to your website and increase your ranking in the search engine. Colebra
I think there's probably a good way to use paid-traffic. I haven't messed around with it at all. But I do think it depends on the type of offer you are promoting... Must work great for the "make money online niche" but no so great for other niches. That's what I think at least. But I might be talking out of my ass As far as organic traffic goes, it's a never ending long process... I almost pissed myself with joy when I got my first organic traffic I also had a 100% bounce rate.... You mind sharing how much organic traffic you get? mybizact
If you don't understand SEO and you're running a site using WordPress, you just have to download a SEO plugin. It will guide you through. It will ask you to choose a focus key word, indicate your keyword density, remind you about images, etc. Oh, and social media is very very effective nowadays so you should build your social media page as well. You mind sharing how much organic traffic you get? 100 % bounce rate you must be doing something really wrong. I don't get much organic traffic I am in the process of building one of my very first(serious) blogs. I get around 15-20 visitors each day. There is not much content on my blog either. I had a blog before where I talked about making money online and I some how managed to get 50-70 visitors a day with around 20 posts but they were not converting very well so I sort of lost hope and abandoned it. The thing I was doing accidental was writing about topics which no one had written before. Edited July 21, 2014 by themonk3y
