My name is Greg, I have been a webmaster off and on since 1997. I have owned various forums and blogs and I have owned 5 different webserver's. My current project is a Michigan forum and I have 50+ members. I have learned a lot over the years, matter of fact I am still learning and I hope to be able to learn from this forum.

I am a member of both websites LOL. Matter of fact I am a member of over 80+ forums now. I really enjoy talking on forums, but the sad thing is they usually don't last very long. I have even had some of my own forum failures. Hopefully my new forum does not fail.

Yeah very true.  I've probably over 50 at this point.  Of those 2 have really taken off.  That's how they say it works though with anything, a lot of failures to lead you to the successful one.

That is so true, I was just telling a guy yesterday on another forum. The key to a successful forum is having core members. With out them your forum is never going to go anywhere. People that register and make a few posts and never come back are never going to take your forum anywhere. You need at least 20~30 active core members that post daily to attract new members and hopefully attract more core members. My biggest problem with every forum that I have ever owned is finding those core members.
