Profit5500 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I remember when I was taking a computer literacy class my professor was showing us the a antivirus software called Malwarebytes which was a free antivirus software. I did not use it because I had AVG and I still use it even to this day. I was wondering if anyone has used the software for Malwarebytes? Quote
Administrators Nathan Posted July 17, 2014 Administrators Posted July 17, 2014 I use it, works well. Used to avg but not a fan anymore since microsoft security essential. Quote
misterv520 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I occassionally use Malwarebytes. It is really effect and simple to use but it isn't an anti-virus software nor should it replace your anti-virous software. Malwarebytes is anti-malware; it gets rid of malacious software on your computer. I've also used AVG but that was a while back so I don't remember why I stopped but Avast Anti-virus software has been serving me well. Quote

That is cool I have been a AVG person since they had version nine. Is Avast Anti-virus for free or do you have to pay? How is Avast does it have a resident shield like AVG? Quote

How is Avast does it have a resident shield like AVG? Avast is free, but like AVG and most other AV's, there's a paid program which has better features, which you can choose to take part in. A resident shield is included in most AV's these days also, but yes Avast does include one. Quote

Pretty much this, I think that Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty reliable and if something get past by it I try first Combofix, it's been a while since I've used malwarebytes. Quote

I always had a great time with AVG I would never have to worry about my computer being vulnerable to threats. I just might try Avast to see how it is until then I would stick to AVG. Quote
Soulwatcher Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Malwarebytes is good for cleaning malware off your computer and the best prevention is a good antivirus. I use to use AVG until I still ended up with a virus. And now I run kaspersky antivirus and its 1000 times better then AVG. I can honestly say that I have never had a virus using kaspersky antivirus. Vicvillon Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I have Malwarebytes, but just the free version of it. The free version still gives you plenty of things, like the malware scans. The scans are nice to have because sometimes it's good to check your computer for malware or something after you've been doing a lot of surfing on the internet. Malwarebytes has caught a couple things a few times, so I am thankful that I have it. :3 Quote
