So I wanted to know if I should just use camtasia again, since I already know the basics about it or if I should buy Adobe Premiere, since that's what most people seem to recommend. fivebysix Posted July 17, 2014 Share Posted July 17, 2014 If you're using a MAC then you're probably going to want to use Final Cut or Avid Media Composer. I've found that overall I prefer Final Cut Pro. However, don't overlook Adobe Premiere. The integration it has with other software packages in the adobe sweet it not to be underestimated. You could honestly base your entire workflow around just using adobe products doing everything from SFX to Graphic Overlays and Audio Engineering can all be handled in Adobe software suites. I have never touched video editing software I guess some can call me out of place for being that way. I unfortunately don't have a MAC and don't plan on getting one anytime soon. Are there any alternatives for Adobe Premiere or do you think it's the non-plus-ultra for Windows video editing? What are your thoughts about Camtasia? Is it good or should I try to get away from it? I'm not quite sure if it's good or not but I'm already used to it a bit so I wouldn't have to learn the interface of another program. I feel like the Adobe Suite is all a like in it's programs so being well versed in Premiere will come in handy if you ever decided to go further. After Effects pairs with Premiere so smoothly that it's worthwhile to take the time to think ahead if you will want to delve into effects versus just a simple snap and paste program. It has a lot of basic as well as advanced features you may find in other editors, but it also allows for various plugins you can download online (or buy) for additional features, like transitions and effects. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but it comes with plenty of features ready for you to explore. There are also various tutorials online that will show you how to do almost anything within the software. Martinsx Posted March 15, 2018 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Adobe Premier is very good, if you haven't gotten it yet, try make efforts and get it because it would serve all your video editing tasks well.
